Okay, I finally broke down and bought an 2001 Autococker. Man, what a difference. I love the gun, but I detest the company for putting out such a lame instruction manual. They ought to be ashamed.

So, after getting different advice from folks at the paintball field, I'll pose the same questions to the wise sages on the information superhighway: What is the best way to clean a cocker after a day of paintball? Do I need to put oil on anything like I did with my Spyder? Should I store the gun with my 68 cu, 3000 psi tank attached or unattached?

And if anyone has an html address for a good FAQ for cockers, I would be much appreciative.

ALl you need to do is clean off the paint, unscrew gas, pull out bolt, clean bolt, run sqeeguee through barrel\ upper chamber, rub oil on bolt, put bolt back in, point gun up, squirt oil in the top of the 3way (in that little hole), work the trigger (make sure gas is unscrewed) to get the oil down through the 3 way, squirt liek 10 drops of oil in the ASA adapter, screw in co2, dry fire like 20 times. Also, every once in a while take off the grip and squirt oil all down through the trigger plate too make slide easier and then squirt oil in around the striker (from the slit that is there when you remove thr grip). Other than that you shouldn't touch the front pneumatics or touch the low chamber where the striker and valve is. Don't leave the gas screwed on for more than a hour of no use, it won't really do anything bad, but leaving it screwed just puts pressure on the o rings when it is not needed and shortens the o rings life.

Hey ry_goody.. Thanks for the advice. It's prolly the best one I've gotten so far. If it wasn't clear enough with the message that I'm a newbie with cockers, I'm about to make it even more clear.... The 3-way you were talking about is the part under the barrel with all the hoses running through and the hammer (I think that's what it is called), right?! There's a hole there that should be oiled? That's one I haven't heard before.

Once again, thanks for the advice.

Yes the 3way is the thing with the 3 hoses running running off it, however there is no hammer attached to it. The hammer is in the back of the gun on the lower chamber where the cocking rod comes out of throught he back block.

Whoops, my bad. I found the tiny hole next to the 3-way. Muchas Gracias...

Ok I dunno if you meant to say it or not, but the hole I am talkinbg about is on the 3way not next to it, its the hole on the end of it where you can see a little plunger move forward and back. When the gun is gassed up and you pull the trigger air spurts out of this hole.

Gotcha. Found the hole with the plunger thingy. Had no idea that was there until you mentioned it. Thanks.

REally you dont need to do all that every game. The most important to do everygame is to clean out the breach which is really easy- run a squeegie straight through. Then rub oil all over the bolt and stick it back in

Then I polish my Chrome pnuematics :).

I never oil the trigger or anything inside the trigger frame- it just attracts dirt.

I do oil the 3 way occasionally however- that is something you need to make sure you do probably every other game. Too much oiling can cause dirt buildup
