I have heard just about every single thing a person can know about the Flatline Barrel for the Tippmann 98. The reviews are so mixed, and I don't know exactly what to think anymore? I was wondering what every one else thought of the Flatline.

Personally...I love it. It really depends alot on what you like to play (woods vs. speedball). If you like woods then I'd reccommend the barrel. You need to make sure it is installed properly and then learn how to use it correctly, but once you have it down...it's deadly. I know it gets alot of mixed reviews but I've had mine for a couple of months and I play every weekend. I've never broken a ball in the barrel...I've never had a ball bounce off a target that was within 200 ft....and I've never had a problem cleaning it out. Some people claim that the balls fly too slow...not true...it's an optical illusion because of the straight flight path. Tests actually have proven that the balls are flying faster at distance than other barrels due to the backspin. Some say that they can easily dodge the paintballs...true...if you're taking long range shots...however, with the flatline you can take longer range shots that any other barrel...result?...the ball is in the air longer than normal allowing time to react to it. My fix to this problem was easy...fire multiple shots...they dodge one but move right into the flight path of another...final result...kills from a range where they can only look at you unless they wanna waste paint by dropping it well short of you.
