the manual says to take off a CO2 tank, u have to turn it 3/4ths of the way and shoot off the rest of the air in the gun, but i constantly screw this up, i end up screwing up o-rings and wasting air...can someone enlighten me on an easier way? or do i have to practice more...man, i feel stoopid askin a question like this....

nah, no question is stupid. if you don't ask, you'll never know. Anyway, when you screw in the tank, the pin on the tank valve gets pushed in by the asa, opening the valve and releasing the pressurized gas. So, the trick while removing the tank is to close the valve without breaking the seal between the tank and the ASA. the way I find easiest is when you're screwing the tank in, listen carefully to exactly when the valve opens. then remember how many turns it takes until the tank is completely screwed in. when taking it off, unscrew to about a half turn before that point, dry fire a couple of times, unscrew a half turn, dry fire.... and repeat this process until you feel the pressure drop off as you fire. then just fire the gun dry, and remove the tank. Ok, so I might have over explained it a bit, but that's better than not enough info, right?

An on/off valve can help too but you don't really need it.
