A couple of days back, i heard that 5 people were arrested with paintball gun in my town (ottawa) The report said that one guy ran out of is house in is backward and strated to shoot at is house, is neighboor hear the shoots and though it was a real gun, so he called the cops, after a cop came and made a little perimeter around the guys house. A bit later 5 guys ran in the garage and started to shoot again, the cop called for backup and the Ottawa Police's SWAT team came and made an assault on the house and beleive or not they were shooting paintball guns!

Wow...this is why the media doesn't like our sport. All they ever see is the bad stuff about paintball... it saddens me:( It's stuff like this that keeps paintball from becoming a major sport. But the media is so eager to present a story about violence and the fact that it is a paintball GUN doesn't help things. If a guy is seen running around his backyard with a baseball bat or golf club no one thinks anything of it. But, if he is playing with a paintball gun, boom! flash! the media is all over it like maggots on a carcass. Those guy was stupid for playing in his backyard; after all, it is dangerous, but is a stray paintball truly more dangerous than a flying golf ball, or a baseball? I think not. The media is just obssesed with violence and guns.

i agree with Magnus55. stuff like this really make paintball look bad and it really pisses me off. and these stupid school shootings aren't really helping either. and it pisses me off when ppl look at the school shootings and blame it on the video games and etc. i wouldn't be surprised if they blamed it on paintball.

School shootings are all media too, there have been alot more school shootings than the media shows. They also give the wrong on impression on reasons and causes for it.

But when the school shootings happen in the quiet rich suburbs, that's when the media goes all over it..it's sad really..

The problem is these kids (and I'm sure they were kids) were probably not you're regular paintball players. They're just jacka**'s with a paintball gun. We can try all we want to be upstanding citizens but there will always be jacka**'s and we will just suffer the consequences.
By the way, how much do you want to bet they were NOT wearing camo when they did this?

I have mixed feelings about the camo issue. On wooded fields or for scenario games, I think it is very helpful. For speedball, it is totally unecessary. I think you need to gauge the usefulness of it for the specific situation.
