Rules? What are "rules"?If you're gettin a game goin with ya buddies than jus tell them:
WEAR GOGGLES, NEVA TAKE EM OFF!
BARREL PLUGS!
no blind shots (dangerous, can hit people in dead box)
don't put paintballs from the ground in your gun
DON'T GET SILLY!!
About permits..umm, most paintball magazines have stuff about getting paintball fields up and running. Look in an "Action Pursuit Games" mag, or:

I don't see the problem with people and their own equipment playing somewhere..as long as the land owner says ok! Make sure you ask the land owner first or there "could" be trouble! Where ya thinking bout gettin a game going? BTW, and what province do you live in? If you live in Southern Ontario I could try to help get a game started with ya, that is..if I get my job at WAL MART!! I gotta interview today, wish me luck!

Sometimes players will point their guns out and fire "blind shots", shots that they don't have much control over. It's unsafe cause it can hit refs, dead players, spectators etc. that are near by. Some fields use this rule, I think it's a good idea because it makes the game safer.
Ok, I gotcha, I hate it when people do that. I had a guy stick his full auto gun, which had the velocity cranked, around a door way and fired right up my leg with the barrel 4 inches from me! I had heard him come and had just moved by the door way to take him out, and all I saw was his gun swing around the corner and unload all over the place, so I just started shooting his nice new gun:)

Good thing he didn't hit you! or did he? Some Newb did that while I was playing in BC, he was defending the flag, I just bunkered him with ease and got the flag. In tourneys it's illegal to take blind shots, you can sometimes get thrown out or if you hit your opponent it won't count. I don't know if this rule applies everywhere, but in an Alberta tourney it was in affect. Ahh, time to shave my head. Lata Gata
