I recently participated in my first tourney along with some friends and frankly we got smoked, along with a complete lack of tournament experience, we found ourselves out gunned. Most our opponents were sporting Autocockers or Angels, (even the ten year olds that eliminated our team in under a minute!), which were capable of throwing alot more paint than my measley spyder. My Question is simply this: What type of markers are best suited toward tourney play and capable of slinging paint quickly and accurately? Automag or Autococker? Who's a reliable maker?
Please bear in mind that I am a New father and this limits my budget greatly. Any info and advice would be greatly appreciated.:D

cocker or impy...im have the cocker and getting the imp...and i understand about what u be talking about
i still ache from sat...we got maxed in 45 seconds....sucked
but there was a spyder only team there they did surprisingly well...it's not the gun that makes the player
but a good gun can help...so cockers are very good and accurate..bu from experiance an electro helps if ur back...or if u can't snap for crap...but i need to know a few things
1 wher u play (posistion)
2 what do u already have ie revy drop hpa
3 how much is ur limited budget
4 are u mechanicly inclined at all
5 what is most important...speed accuracy or price
6 u do know mags suck *** imo

Guns do jack for you man. Sorry. You might want to get skill before you get a new gun. keep your spyder. I had a tournament, and besides 1 other team, everyone had cocker's, angles, impulses. We got third place. My teams guns, Spyder compact with new barrel, sheridan XTS stock, and a tl pmi perhanna gts or something, stock.

hmm well, true...but trust me certan guns are better for certan spots, ie back it's good to have something fast, wile in front u want something that ull beab;le to hit ur target in like 3 or 4 shots

Yes I understand that it is the skill that trully matters and that will come with experience however a good gun I am sure doesn't hurt and a good investment, since I am serious about playing. So once again my question is what is a good solid gun to invest in.

I would get a cocker, impulse or bushmaster, but i also urge you to spend more time improving your game with your spyder befoer you buy a new gun. Shorten your trigger and get a barrel for it, but practice will help you much more than buying a gun will.

An Impulse would be the best tourney gun for a newbie. I just got my Impulse and I am just starting to play in tournaments this year.

I would get the automag. It is very reliable and has about 1/10 of the parts that an autococker has. If your still pretty new it would take you years to figure the the friggin thing out. Ive seen its layout. The automag is also so much more comfortable in play. :eyes:

get an automag. the classics are $250, and they are extremely simple. they are also blow forwards which make them slightly more accurate then blow backs. This is coming from a kid that owned a automag when he started tourney and had a fixed income of $20 a week. If you play back you might wanna invest in an electro though. and in that case buy an ESP trigger frame and rico and install them on your Spyder.

try some out, feel what is comfortable to you. pick the gun you like and for what reasons, speed, size, weight, balance (depends on set up) etc. . . i personally like playing (and [B]I[B] feel [B]I[B] play better) with autocockers. I had an elctronic gun for my first set up and traded for the cocker in my sig. i dont regret it, you may feel different, try for your self . . . good luck ;)
