You've already completed the first step, identifying potential new members. The next step is identifying the level you want to play at and the level the potentials are willing to go to. Do you want a rec team or a tournament team? Do you want to play an occasional game, a circuit/league or every Sunday? How far are you willing to travel? If you are under 18 how much paretal support will you have?

Find out the answers to these and get back with me.

One thing to think of is if YOU put the team together you can presume the position of Captain. Keep in mind the position has a lot of responsibilities that go with it.

forming a team in paintball is not like other sports, even if you are going for the bug tourneys i think you can just throw together some friends and make sure ya got the cash to enter

that's how i did it...Team Illusion(my team) was thrown together by me and a bunch of freinds....we kick *** nwo cuz we know how each othe'rs styles are..so we know what our teammates are gonna do...communication is key.

if i form a team it will rock if we win, prozes around here are awesome. Kinda cool there is a tournament thing called NWTS i think... they are only up here in washington and the prizes come in excess to 500 bucks, only like 30 pucks a persone to get in too!

The only thing you can really do to prepare for tournaments is first play one to see what it is all about. Then practice like you are4 in a tournament. Do bunker drills. covering your angles, learn to walk the field to find the sweetspots and blindspots, scrimmage with teams BETTER than you so you know how to react to it. You don't necessarily need to sling paint in practice.

Electrichead was right when he said paintball teams are not like any other sport. Tournaments are not like any other competition either. In football the fields are always the same, but in paintball fields are unique, no two are exactly the same. You need to know how to play diverse fields and how to learn a field quick when you first see it.

Here's the trophies and medals from just last season. Not pictured are the JT Ize Masks, JT jerseys, JT gloves, AKALMP VLM Cockers kits and all the other prizes we won.

Thanks. There's one under the G that is hard to see. It's a Sportsmanship award from Sherwood Forest in LaPorte Indiana. Along with it was a free entry, air and qualifier for the NAAPSA Nationals! We won Sportsmanship 3 times last season. Not bad for one season! We just picked up AKALMP as a sponsor. We should be getting our Excaliburs in a few weeks.

Heh heh yeah they are. We took a bunch of pictures that day with us smiling or looking grim. Everyone liked the grim pix better so that's the one we use.
Funny thing is that picture is already outdated. We've since added another player, have more sponsors on the banner and have new jerseys.
The fun never stops.

Honestly? It's a blast! Think about it, whenever you go to a field with a teammate you always have at least 1 person you can count on. My team sticks and works together very well. Tomorrow we're going to play rec. I know that if I need cover fire or a runner I have someone I can count on. So do they. The guys on my team are friends as well as team mates. All of us get along very well and are willing to help each other out as much as we can. Being on a tight team is well worth the time.
