View Full Version : the best gun for me, help me find it! THANKS
I was playing against a tippman with a flatline barrel sunday and i decided its time for me to get a new gun one thats better than a tippman 98 with a flatline barrel. Can someone help me?
Im thinkin in the $1-$1000 range
I would love to have it electronic
I like how my gun looks but if thats a problem dont worry about it
I would like someone to tell me everything i need if i need to get a new barrel for it which should i get? Or if i need a dropforward or anything that will help the gun.
Dont tell me u cant help, that i should decide on my own whats confortable with me, because im tellin u what i want it for. I need it to be able to shoot fast (that can turn full auto), accurate, good distance (able to stand with a flatline's distance), and balanced good.
Can someone help me here?
P.s. When u tell me what i should get can u tell me what distance its accurate at with the barrel u think i should get because when it comes to $1000 everyone wants to know how the gun works before buying and i cant test any because i order online for the reason that we dont have any stores around here for pb.
Thanks for any help,
Buff

The only way that you are going to match distances with the Flatline....is to get a Flatline, or at least a Flatline barrel. You are going to get a different answer from almost everybody on this forum as to which gun is "better". I haven't really had any experiences with any other electro-markers besides the Shocker, so I can only comment on it. I really like my Shocker it's quick, comfortable and can use CO2 or HPA. I have no place in my area to get HPA fills so that pretty much eliminates almost all the new electro-markers. You don't really need much for the Shocker, IMO all you need is a gadget grip and it's ready to go. Just my $0.02, I'm sure you will get some different answers from other people.
Thanks for yer answer, can anyone else tell me about what they think. Ill look into sm's shocker, thanks man and i dont have any place to get hpa fills either so id have to go with co2 also.
Oh also how about distance what kinda distance does yer shocker get and do u sue a afetr market barrel on it if so what kind also.
Thanks again for yer reply

well I have read some reviews on the new Black Magic Autococker.....and all they keep saying is how it puts paintball ontop of paint ball at 40,50 and 60 feet...with a 4 inch spread....with the stock J&J barrel...
I have seen it for as little as 715.00
(this WILL be my next marker!)
a shocker 4x4 hmmm just to ask say yer 100 feet away one person has a flatline tippman and the other person has a shocker 4x4 both the same level of experience and we will say there the same person. Which do u think would win?
Ive been lookin at the shocker and seen that it only has good reviews no less than 9 and pretty good with co2 i hear it gets about 400-500 shots on a 20ounce tank thats better than my spyder compact which is about 350-400.
Oh and can anyone tell me if the shocker is pretty accurate at 100-150 feet?
thanks,
buff

You get 350 to 400 shots off of a 20 ounce? Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but that's not right. I've got a 9 oz on my Spyder and I can get more than 400.

There is the Z Body Automag... its a Mag that puts a backspin on the ball like a Flatline barrel does.

1. You are not going to be able to go full auto. If you are using CO2 it will freeze the marker and damage or break it. One of the min requirements for full auto or electric markers is a HPA system. There are some electric markers that you may be able to use CO2, but if you do you wont get your money's worth.
2. If you are using CO2, and are willing to spend up to 1000 dollars, I am assuming just for the marker, I reccommend one of the high end cockers. One that is already fixed up by an aftermarket company. For example the Chaos cocker. That marker is decked out in ANS products and is awesome out of the box. You may not be able to go full auto, but you will have some crasy performance.
3. If you are really looking into something that has full auto capability, I would also reccomend the custom 98. Upgrade it with a flatline barrel and get the reactive trigger. You can still use CO2. The reactive trigger will give you the ability to "bounce" the trigger and give you a "full auto" firing capability.

i am tellin u what i know it at max ive gottin 400 shots out of it i dont think the guy has been fillin it up right anywayz cause now he gives it to me half full as he use to fill it maybe he never filled it all the way maybe he thinks im a moron maybe i should kick his *** what do u think should i eh im gonna do it dude yer *** is gonna be kicked prepare 2 DIEEEEEEEE DIEEEEEEEEEEEE D
IEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
P.S. is that guy up there right about the co2 tank gonna freeze on full auto what if i use burst modes or something what is the fastest i can shoot without it freezin up or is he tellin the truth????? i dont know im a newbie see to yer left NEWBIE u gotta feel me in on this stuff guys.
Thanks,
Buff
Oh sorry he didnt say the tank will freeze but he said the gun will ......... is that true? Id see how it would since temperature is the limitation for co2 i guess.

I am not lying, but I may be under the wrong impression. Nevertheless, If you shoot quickly the CO2 will start to cool down the marker. The faster you shoot for a longer period of time, the faster your marker will cool down. Once it gets to a certian point, the CO2 will not be able to convert into a gas form before entering your marker. If that happens, liquid CO2 entering your marker, you have the potential for doing many things that will harm your marker.
1. you can freeze the orings, which will make you lose your seal and your marker will not fire.
2. you will freeze the internals, which makes your marker not fire.
3. Basically, if you get liquid CO2 into your marker you will have trouble. If you get liquid CO2 in an electronic marker... you got big trouble.
A expanison chamber may help a bit. But only a little.
I didnt mean to say it like yer lying sorry but thanks for telling me. So if i dont use full auto all the time it wont happen right? just if i use it to long like constantly holding it down or something. Or how about this the diablo matrix i just saw the video for it does it shoot very fast on semi auto? is the trigger on it so light that it sounds like its on full auto cause the first time i saw the video i thought he said full auto and it sounded like it but when i watched it again he said semi so i was amazed that he moved his fingure that dang fast.
thanks again and im gonna check out that after market autococker you were tellin me about.
Sorry didnt mean to say it like im calling u a lier. And thanks for informing me about that, it will help me out alot. And im going to yer site right now, gonna check out the after market autococker you were tellin me about.
Oh what about that diablo matrix? I saw a video just now and i am amazed about its speed, the trigger seems light as a nat's feather (if he had one). Maybe its just me since i have only used a talon, spyder compact, stingray, and a tippman 98 custom. And since the spyder has about a 10 foot trigger pull haha.
Thanks,

2 things
The Matrix will fire just as fast as any other electro. The speed in the video is no faster than any other electro I've ever seen
The shocker wont freeze on CO2. Liquid CO2 is what 'causes your gun to freeze, because it absorbs energy (heat) when it turns into a gas. No Liquid will ever get into a shocker, and therefore the gun will not freeze. The maxFlow reg will get cold though, but it is designed to be able to operate that way. Your shocker will never see a spec of liquid though, so dont worry about it

i also suggest a similar option if not the shocker, the impulse, a smaller version of the shocker thats a little easier on the wallet :) they also come stock with the maxflow reg and they work the same (if not better) on co2 than HPA.(just make sure you have an on-off antisiphon for best results)
can the diablo matrix run off of co2?

Hey I didnt know that about the shocker... why dont liquid CO2 enter a shocker?

the reg takes the CO2 pressure down to 160. Liquid CO2 is co2 thats purty darn compressed, and soo when it gets down to 160 it's no longer compresed much so it will become gas, cause it can't be liquid

did i say that right?
If You had my spyder compact how would u fix it up?
Would u add a spyder boo-yaah electronic grip frame?
What kind of barrel would u buy for it?
Would u add a bottomline, forgrip, and low pressure chamber?
What would u do to it?
And could it stand up against the $500 range guns?
Thanks and this is my last question then im deciding on my own out of what yaw have told me and get the right gun for my self thanks all of you and please answer this as soon as possible.
Thanks again,
Buff

Well, all of the upgrades that you stated are good upgrades to look into. How much are you looking to spend? That will give us an idea of which ones to reccommend to you.

a shocker and impulse and (i think) the only electros that will run well on CO2, and but it does not go full auto though i dont see y u want it to and all barrels shot the same distance accept the flat line, and the z-body(not a barrel though) yes u could trick ur compact out but i wouldnt be as good aas a tricked electro/cocker, but if u want to id recomend looking into aci's sonic convertion kit

But wont the liquid CO2 entering the reg mess it up?

Um, i wouldn't try trickin out your spyder, i would rather get a new gun. Get a good cocker, and put a freak system on it. That would be nice. But if u can't get nitrogen, that is kinda a problem. You probably could run Co2 on it, but lots of people probably wouldn't recomend it. The Shocker is probably the only good electro that u can run Co2 on. But if u want to try another idea, here it is.
1) Get a Tippmann 98 Custom ($125)
2) Get a Freak System Barrel Kit ($200)
3) Get the Rt Trigger (almost makes it full auto and works great on CO2.) ($85)
4) Get a Palmer Stabilizer Regulator. ($90)
5) Get a Benchmark Drop Forward with on/off ($40)
6) Get a macroline kit with 2 90 degree quick dissconnect ends ($10)
7) Get a secondary regulator ($40)
8) Get a full boar rear cocking/Rear violisity adjuster ($40)
9) Get 2 anti siphon 20 oz tanks ($80)
10)Get a Sin Customs Paintjob ($40)
----------------------------------------------------------
Total Cost = $750
You might want to condisder that. That would be a really cool gun. It would look really nice, and perform really nice. That might be as good as it gets without runnin Nitro.
You can add extra upgrades to that, but i am tired of listing them.
