Since im getting my Model 98 for christmas, what should be my first upgrade?? I already have a J&J Ceramics 14". What should I get next?? I'm kinda leaning towards a Revvy, but I thought I would ask you guys on the board.
Thanks

What kind of tank are you getting?
If it is 20oz go for a lapco drop forward!

Actually I have a 20 oz. Co2, but I have a 6+1 harrness and a remote, so I really don't need a dropfoward, but thanks for the suggestion.

A lapco rva will get you a lot more shots/tank!

Thanks, I forgot about that, but I was planning on getting one when I had the money. Thanks again.
Get an expansion chamber definatly and a 12v revy it will make your gun perform alot better of wait you have a remote my bad how many stage is it? G

The remote doesn't say how many stages it is....I heard that any remote acts like a x chamber....so im not real sure
Get the RT kit..I have it.. IT ROCKS..you have to send it to the Tippman Pro shop though.... Here is the info on it.

Yeah I know about the RT kit, but I'm not sure if its leagal at my field, and I would like to play with the gun normally before i mess with it too much. But that would be a really cool upgrade. And since i'm in Indiana, it probably wouldn't take as long to ship it :) thanks for the suggestion.

The remote lines don't have "stages" like an expansion chamber. In my opinion, remotes work better in keeping co2 out of the gun than an expansion chamber does.

remotes do work a lot better than expansion chambers, cuz the co2 has that whooooole line to expand in. also, with a remote, u can keep the co2 tank off da gun, making u more manueverable, and making ur gun more light. also, it depends if u need a 12v revvy. if u dont spray da field or rapid fire too much, u dont really need it. the m98 has a little kick when it shoots, and thats sometimes enough to keep da balls flowin. also, check out da venturi bolt. makes ur gun more accurate by spreading the release of co2, and its only 12$!!! also...go to m98center.com i did some trigger mod's from that site, and instead of a 3lb trigger pull, mine is about 1lb!

A guy at my local paintball store had a rt installed on his m98, he showed it to me and pbsoul. It was really nice, with ur J&J it would be an awesome gun!

yea,
it was actually an m98 electro mod....it had full auto, burst, and RT. it was soooo tyte. he triggered it as fast as he could for a minute, and he used up 3,000 psi in a minute! soooooo fast. but i dotn know if u wanna spend $200-300 on a $120 gun. but its so amazing. with the m98's durability, and dat upgrade, and an awesome barrel, it would keep up with cockers and angels.

my friends all have 98's they shoot like crazy and they have a normal hopper. if u get a rev get a 9 volt u dont need a 12
justin
12-11-2000, 02:46 PM
yeah if i was to get the revvy, it would be a 9v, I would really, really, really like a electro kit, but i dont have 300 bucks to spend on it. I am really happy that I got a remote because the expansion chambers are really expensive(60 bucks) compared to the remote (25 bucks) :) thanks for all the responses :) Yeah I was really thinking about getting a venturi bolt also, ill probably get that and the rva as my first real upgrades.

The ACI Sub-Zero 6 Stage expansion chambers are only $35.
justin

yeah....but I already have a remote.

I know you already have a remote, but in a previous post you said expansion chambers were about $60 and the ACI Sub Zero 6 Stage is one of the better x chambers and it costs $35, not $60. Combined with the M98 vertical kit, it costs about $60, though.
justin

oh ok....yeah i was gonna ask if the vertical kit was needed, but you answered it. No matter what, its gonna cost around 60 bucks, unless you can get the stuff free from someone who doesnt want it
I personally think that a 12v revy is the best way to go dude because the 12v is the only one that really works alot of times the two paddle system gets stuck with the balls and dosn't mix them while the 4 paddles system works alot better and who dosn't want to be able to shoot as fast as they can with a little extra room of speed.

the more that I think about it, a revvy isnt really needed, unless I get the RT kit, beause the Model 98 has enough of a kick to keep the balls feeding. Or i could just do one of those powerfeed mods on my elbow.
Maybe but it is better to have one kick won't gey the balls going down the hopper.

if i needed it, then I would get the 9v revvy. but like i said, i could always try the powerfeed mod.
which brings to the point that the 12v is the best and why not have the best. It isn't that muth more plus it has 4 paddles which don't get stuck as easy as the 2 paddle 9v revy.

cause i dont need the best, and i could spend the saved money on other things. Just call it my dutch blood.
Oh so you live in Indiana but you Dutch?
justin
12-12-2000, 11:25 AM
actually my grandparents were dutch....and my dads real cheap. so he says its his dutch blood that makes him cheap. im a mutt(mix of a lot, except for like black and mexican. Like a lot of different european cultures.)

well,
da m98 powerfeed mod is really easy to do. if u go to http://www.m98center.com it shows u how to do it. i did it, and it realy works! plus with that extra kick, i realized i dont need a revvy. one time i was doing the trigger mod, and i stretched da springs too much, and when i went, my m987 was firing auto and not cocking bak after da 4th or 5th shot. it was firing just like an auto, but it wasnt breaking any balls.
justin
12-12-2000, 01:21 PM
sweet...yeah, im thinking about doing that powerfeed mod, or maybe i'll just buy that new replacement elbow that already has the powerfeed mod done to it. which one do you think is better. The only problem with the directions of the powerfeed mod on http://www.model98center.com is that they dont tell you which size drill bit to use. If anyone knows, please tell me, I would like to know.

12-12-2000, 03:32 PM
hey,
well, u dont need to use an exact size drill bit. if u look at the picture, it should give u a pretty good proportion of it. i just used some drill bit, and it works. da point is, trying to get air out instead of pushing da balls back. u just need to drill holes in it, dont worry about it being too big or too small, unless its too big that da balls slip out, or that its too small to make any difference. dont waste ur money on dat premade powerfeed. i think da drill bit i used was....1/4''
justin
12-12-2000, 03:36 PM
ok...thanks for the info. Now i just have to get the courage to use the drill. LOL j/k. I just want to play a few games before with my new gun before I start doing mods to my gun. Oh yeah, and I hope i dont make the holes big enough to have the balls fall out :)
Cool hope you like your gun and have fun with it!
