does an impulse really need an on/off it is using nitro......if so why?

thanks

Read the FAQ.

You can do the o-ring trick instead of on/off but on/off is easier IMO. Or you can lower the regulator down to 0PSI and slowly increase it to 150PSI

ok.....but why?

Read the FAQ.

It will shock the solenoid to kill your PRV.

why the hell would it shock the seloniod.........screwing it in with the tank is gonna make just as much pressure as screwing it in with an on/off........am i wrong?

ya u r:D

read the FAQ before u post:rolleyes:

you turn it on slowly so its not all the pressure at once

hey, buddy, i read the faq.....but why would it be better to screw it in with an on/off..........how does that avoid "shock"

you can gas it up SLOWLY by turning the on/off into the on position SLOWLY! sheesh.....

well, u can do the same thing when screwing in the tank, just do it slowly....i have an on/off it lets it in the same rate.......

ya, thats what i thought.......no awnsers.........?

but, i m still wondering why you can't just screw the tank in slowly instead of getting an on/off.....

Sr. Lapiz,

I've had my impulse for a year now and I never used an on/off valve with a screw in tank (CO2 or Nitro) and haven't had any problems because of it.

hahahaha, thanks soooo much...........one point for Mr. Pencils team!

i still don't know why people say you need a on/off...........

I don't know about the newer maxflow regs(bottom mount), but the older ones have a long manifold pin which prevented the tank from getting a proper seal. The on/off valve was one way to solve this problem.

well actually if you screw you pinvalve tank in slowly it wouldntbe the same as turning on off slowly because al the pressure would still be entering at same time

I believe that the score is 4 to 1 Mr. Pencil favoring me:D

hey, awhilyle u think? i m pretty sure you are wrong......no offense. Do you have a on/off........why would there be more pressure? screwing in the on/off is the same thing as screwing in the tank.........all the on/off does is push the mainfold pin in to the valve pin instead of the other way around

An Impulse with a vertical-max flow will have a standard ASA under the grip frame. This ASA will seal the tank before the pin in the ASA engages the pin valve on the tank. Smart Parts also redesigned the manifold, so on newer Impulses with a bottom-mount Max-Flow your tank will also seal properly to the manifold.

OOOOOOOOOO who didnt read the FAQ now!

how did that have anything to do with the on/off?

it has everything to do with the on/off. i think :eyes: you just probably dont know wtf hes talking about, while the rest of us can sit here and laugh at you while you drool all over the keyboard.
