Exactly what effect on performance does added length have?
All of my freinds say it increases range and accuracy but I tend to disagree, am I right to?

i think it does add accuracy, although i won't buy anythin over a 14 in.

Length does not help accuracy or distance. The only thing it does it allow some people to sight their target better.

i think it would only help sighting if you go by barrel direction only, you really dont use the barrel at all when using a raised sight rail. Really i do think that over 14 is a waste, plus it seems like it makes your gun kinda bulky

hrmm..i heard that anything over a 14 in. slows the paintballs down..is this true or is it a myth?

i heard longer barrels reduce gass efficiency

it seems to me that a barrel that long could be broken or bent pretty easily

Hehehe that's what I thought I play with a guy who has a 20" barrel he got off of eBay and DAMN his gun looks big. It also makes some really funny noises when he fires, sort of like when you pull a jerk squeegie through your barrel really fast.

He has a Compact 2000 so it doesn't look to messed up just extremely front heavy. I don't know what kind of barrel he has it has this weird diamond shaped muzzle break and is supposed to be internaly rifled but I don't know.

it seems to me that a barrel over 14 inches will get in the way when your playin rec. games in the woods. it could get caught in sticker bushes and scratch the sh** out of it.

man, 14 inches is big even. The biggest I'd ever consider going is a 12 inch. 12s and 10s are just as accurate as any barrels I've ever fired in longer lengths, and you can tuck into bunkers alot better with a 10 incher than you can with a 14 inch barrel. And lets face it, between a 10 incher and a 14 incher, even if the 14 is more accurate, what good are you if you cant tuck into the bunker tightly and get eliminated?

Since I'm getting a JJ ceremic. So, I thought hell with it, I just cut 4" off my stock TL+ barrel and put WillyPete's extension on it.. But don't have a chance to test it on the field yet.. Only in my backyard try to nail pigeon. I hope no humane society around here.. 55555 just kidding..

Longer barrels are less gas effecient simply because it takes more power to achieve desired velocity. A lot more friction in a longer barrel. Not more accurate, longer barrels do help people to site better though.

14" and less is what I prefer. But if you want a 16" barrel who cares? To each his own.

Is there any website that compare and test the barrel?
Just can't buy them all to try out...
My wife would kill me...

Its hard to really compare barrels. A barrel will only match up good with a paint that fits it well. All barrels can shoot at the same velocity, some just arent as gas effecient as others. Its hard to compare one to the other.
