View Full Version : Tippmann Vs. Spyder Vs. All

I'll tell you a little story. A bunch of guys played paintball quite a bit, originally they started off with brass eagle stuff. They figured out it was crap, so they upgraded to spyders. They (a few guys) got a spyder compact, a spyder se, spyder standard. . . The spyders worked ok, average. . . Then some got Tippmanns (newbie people who are friends of the spyder people) and they (spyder people) found out that the pro/carbine kicked *** and the model 98 was hella nice too. Then they all upgraded to Tippmanns, and now the only problem is that there are too many tippmans pro/carbines and model 98s playing. Moral of the story: Do yourself a favor and perhaps do some research first on the guns: research durability, ease of use, etc. Don't worry about accuracy problems of the stock barrel (spyder and tippmanns both have this problem, too) or even the look of the gun, because the look won't matter after you have covered them with paint. I'd say the Tippmann (any kind) is the most durable and best working low end gun and for its price tag. Bunch of people on this forum say that the Tippmann sucks and stuff like Spyder 4ever! Thats a lotta bull. They never used a tippmann, just seen em on sites and said that it looks bad, I wont use it. I laugh at all you spyder people cause your elbows get in the way! haha. I also commend all the people who are brave enough to get new paintball markers, like The sharc and stuff. Good job.

I agree with Badmeister totally. There are many problems with spyders, and Tippmanns are great. Tippmanns are a lot more durable and just a better gun. They are not as flashy as most spyders but that doesn't really matter. Most of my friends had spyders and are now switching to Tippmanns cause their spyders are acting like crap. Also they hate to keep getting out by Tippmann owners with flatelines and Rt triggers on the field. Personally i dont' like getting hit by Rt triggers my self, cause by the time u shout "I'm Hit" You have already been hit about 10 times. <---------- Not lieing about that.

and why do spyders suck??? just wundering about ur reasons why tippmanns r better, i agree there good but not better, they are cheaper then a average spyder,(tl+) but not better and tippmanns are not desined to have too high BPS, i mean they dont even have P/F

I'm not sure what the fuss is about taking apart the Custom98. All you need is a thumb screw set and taking it apart is a no brainer. It's just 6 screws, and frankly if you HAVE to take your Custom98 apart, you shouldn't be in a game in the first place. This whole debate as to which is better is absurd, it happens in every damn thing you run across. "My ford is better than your chevy." "My Arp 2600 is better than your EMS VCS." "My USP Tactical is better than your Desert Eagle." "My PC is better than your Apple." <if the Arp 2600 is cryptic to you, then it goes to show that you see this nonsense everywhere> It's basically just a pissing contest to have the last word and frankly even sometimes to reaffirm why they bought the silly marker in the first place. I don't hold an elitist attitude when it comes to paintball, frankly if someone is going to play with a brass eagle marker, so be it, it's what he can afford or willing to pay for. You never know he may be the chump in a tree that pegged 2 of your guys. (actually happened) Basically what I'm saying is get what you are comfortable with and leave the bullsh*t at home.

I'll agree with you. Although I've never had the chance to play speedball and I'm not sure I will enjoy the idea of speed dumping a lot of paint. I prefer the appeal of simple straight rec ball. I guess if I get enough courage or interest to try speedball and it tickles my fancy then maybe I'll consider getting another marker that is shorter in length than the Custom 98.

u dont understand man it takes me about 10 mins to open and put together a 98 but it only takes a simple pin that i have to pull out of my shutter and everything just falls out i can put my shutter back together in about 2 mins

try 45 secound to put the gun together, you are so racists toward the M98, and your shutter isn't the best so pipe down

u so cant take a m98 in 45 seconds first u gota unscrew like 8 allen wrench things and then crack it open and when u put it back to gether u gota get the scrwes right on and there are like 6 pins where the trigger holds together and those are hard to get it directly on and the freakin trigger spring falls out easily so u gota be real patient and careful and you gota get the bottom line screws in the trigger handle on corectly or else u will have to open the whole gun all over again and the site thing falls off whenever u open the gun up and thats hard to slide back on to

go buy some field strip pins, and a n98 isnt that bad i think its a matter of personal prefence, but as far as a spyder goes i think a piranha is a better deal/gun, and two mins, i can my RAS intruder apart and back together in about 30sec and it has 2 quick strip crews not a pin, so u most be slow if it takes u 2min

man.. if taking a C98 apart and putting it back together again is a pain...then a lot of young folks these days have Parkinsons Disease... i mean i've taking it apart quite a few times and i havent experienced the 'trigger pins' from falling out, etc.. Maybe it's just me.

oh my god this is the best thread i have seen in a LONNGGG while. i am so for tippmanns, i really have no beef with spyders, only that i see two of my friends that are always having problems with their spyder Tlplus's. but the people who are spyder ***got freaks all talk about how the accuracy sucks really bad on stock m98 and such........they just make me really mad. I have one funny story where i hit my friend from about 5 feet away from a bunker infront of me. gave him a welt for like a week. as we were walking off the field, he said he will never diss tippmann again. thats pretty funny too, since hes always strutting around with his spyder, dissing our tippmanns.(its also pretty funny because he sucks *** at paintball)

I have used both...just like my spyder better...
and I pull one pin...and strip my gun.....no way can you strip a 98 that fast....no way....
and if I shot you with my spyder (or any marker for that matter) from 5 feet at 300fps...you'd have a hell of a welt yourself....
