Paintball in 1971?

I was looking at my jt neck protecter thing and underneath where it says JT is says since 1971. Was paintball even around back then? I thought it was started in mid 80's. Or did JT carry other products in 1971 then started to carry paintball stuff. Just wondering.

jt started out as a racing company i think back in the day. thats why it says since 1971

JT made loads of motorcross goggles/mask's ,oakley like glasses etc. aswell

im pretty sure they do there just not as big in these sports anymore since there growth in popularity has risen and bigger companies have come up, and since there main selling point is in paintball. companies like scott though still make stuff for like snowboarding though they still make paintball stuff.
