Before i call Tippmann Service, I was wondering if anyone could shed a little light on what might be going on.

I took my new, out of the box A-5 to the field today, and had a few games with it. At first it was shooting alright, but after about 200 to 300 shots through it it started doublfireing and making that machine gun action you get if your running out of air, only I was completely full and well over 1800psi in my tank.

It just got worse and worse over the next game, to the point that it wouldnt evan shoot anymore, just make that noise/action of the hammer not catching.

It wasnt shooting multiple balls or missfeeding, it was more or less like the rear bolt wasnt quite catching sometimes and would go back and forth 2 or 3 times before it did, then was ready again.

If anyone has any ideas of what i should check and look at, then let me know.. I like the gun very much when it was working, but was very disapointed to see it out of the box not work after the 200 shots

One possibility is the hammer o-ring has a split in it. Replace that, and then see how it performs.

It shouldn't be the sear, I almost know that's not the problem.

yeah, it sounds like there might be a seal problem somewhere. take it apart, check all the o-rings, oil it up well, put a couple drops of oil in the asa and dry fire a couple times to oil the valve internals a bit. See if that helps. You turned the velocity all the way up on the gun and it's not resetting the hammer... means there could be something wrong with the valve.

out of the box it was shooting 280 which is where i normaly set my guns.. so i dont think that was it.. as for oiling it, i did that, but ill strip it down and try it again and see what happens.. =o(

this is pretty disapointing none the less =o(

Same thign happen to me. I dont know if its the same on the A-5 but look on the side where the cycloen feed is and look about in the middle of the gun. There should be 2 cicle shaped screws make sure there screwed on tight. Mine were lose and I didnt know so my gun wasnt firing either
