"Field Stripping (to my knowledge, correct me if I am wrong here...} is a term to describe something being clean/lubed... etc, gun, barrel... ? etc... (little unclear huh) Like the Bolts with PINS on Autocockers are good for quick field stripping, meaning if something went wrong... or dirty its really easy to fix / or clean them no need to take them to bust out all the tools to take it out... maybe someone can help add to this... ?

feild stripping is usualy being able to taked apart with out tools. piranhas are a very good example of this while on the other hand tippmanns arent.

It also has the connotation of being stripped down and rebuilt quickly, as well as w/o tools. If you can take it apart without any tools, but it takes you half an hour to put all the little pieces back in their places, it's not really field strippable. At least, IMO.

Field stripping is a term used to describe a quick dissasembly, cleaning/lubing, and reconstruction of your marker. If a paintball chops in the barrel, you may need to stip down your gun (on the feild, hence FIELD stripping) to get to your internals and you will need to unscrew the barrel to squeegie it. It is basically maintenance to your gun on the field. Spyders (the newer ones like the Xtra) have a T pin that you remove and no tools are needed, this gets you acess to the guts of your gun fast and efficiently.

Yes, I agree with everyone here so far... Just to add my 2 cents...

Field stripping is having the ability to access the internals of your marker easily. For example a sypder is easy to field strip because all you need to do is pull out a pin and you can pull ut your bolt and access the internals. You can make it even more easy to field strip by adding field strip screws to the marker, which enable you to take even the screws out easy on the field to full strip your marker, if ever there was an occasion to.

There isnt such thing as a marker that cannot be field stripped. There are only markers that are hard or very hard to field strip.

Definition 2:

Field stripping: Something that should not be attempted unless absolutely necessary if you have a tippmann m98 and are not very well prepared and experienced. :) haha

Kingman spyders are very good for feild striping just take out the quick disconnect pin and pull out all the works in the gun!

tippmanns should not be field strip or you will miss out on like 5 games...beware they are very hard to deal with.

Exacatally what I was talking about. Model 98s are difficult to field strip. YOu can make this easier by purchasing field strip screws for your model 98. Makes it easier to take abart without tools. So instead of missing 5 games, maybe 1 or 2

i have a spyder se and i dont need filed strip scews. i can take my gun apart, take out the internals, clean the internals, oil the internals, put em back in, and lock it all up in 5 minutes
