Hmmm... I'd say the 98 Custom because they have lots of nice drop-ins like the Response Trigger, Flatline barrel, and so on. And it has a lot of other things you can add to it.

I used a pro carbine and they are big pieces of feces yet again I was renting it either way I'd go with a custom

If you want ease of use and a great marker out of box get the 98.

if you dont like the tommygun grip or enjoy doing a bit of custom work to make your marker tops get the Pro/carb.

The carbs have much less problems than the 98s but thats not saying much because both are supremly hardcore. the carb is built tougher than the 98 so it will take much more abuse and last forever.

Both are great markers and you won't regret buying either one you choose.

Yeah pretty much the only advantige of the 98c is the dropins.

Not exactly. The 98s out of box have a Great ROF and everything you need (Save for the barrel) To feel like a Pro. The carbs however Require some work to get in shape.

I also forgot to mention that the 98s are Cheaper too

get the pro carb play with it then you can upgrade to the a5 when it has a few more tweeks available and you can use your procarb barrels in the a5.
