Check out Badland's Ultimate Impulse package. The Impulses are also the newer, special models with the "Invision" eye which is like the eye on the Intimidator, it helps prevent ball chops.

Well, the package looks alright, but that is certainly NOT the Ultimate Impulse.

A gas through gadget grip? Lame. It is just that, a gadget, or I like to think of it as a gas-through gimmick grip. An "Ultimate" Impulse would be better with a vertical max-flow. Then you have a foregrip, and you don't have the max-flow suseptible to damage on the bottom. (also makes the 'gun shorter height-wise)

ALSO, I wouldn't buy an AA barrel. Personnaly, I prefer a medium bore boomstick, or one of those new JT barrels that you can screw apart for new bore sizes.

I find AA barrels to be... too largely bored. balls just drop through them. Unless you got big balls... BWAHAHAHAHAHA Alas... I do not... (*sniff*)

The other thing is that not everywhere you go to play has 4500 psi capability. So you wouldn't get your tanks full potential.

LASTLY, when you think about how much extra money you have to pay for the Vision, is it really worth it? All it does is slow down your rate of fire if a ball isn't fully in the breach. And thats an extra how much??
The Impulse already shoots at a very low psi, which gives you very little ball breakage. Sure with the Vision you are almost guaranteed to never break, but how often would you break on a stock Impulse? My guess is that there isn't a huge difference. (I think The Flash put it best: "$100-200 extra for Vision, or $10+ on a good squeegie... hmmm....")

Believe me, i considered getting an Impulse with the Vision, but I've decided it isn't worth the extra cash.

Another thing they should be making as a mod for the Impulse: Some form of a rocket cock that would cover the bolt and keep it moderately safe from junk getting into it.

Some very good points. If I were to buy an Impulse, here's what I'd put on it :

New barrel (Freak kit or Custom Products barrel)
Gadget grip or Vertical reg setup
Dropforward
3Kpsi Crossfire

BWA, Now what's the "Ultimate" Impulse, I think my package is pretty good and isn't overly expensive. The tourney gun I want to get if I actually do start tourneys is a Diablo Matrix, they're friggin niiiiice. The only drawback is it's shape, the vert. feed is close up front so the gun kinda looks unbalanced.

The matrix is alright I guess...but their are many good guns out there....If you are just wanting one cause you watched the video I don't hink that would be the best reason to buy it...Its a sales pitch movie...the guy can strip the thing in like 5 seconds because its his job to know how to do it....I have messed around with one...yes they have a good rate of fire...but they are a very uncomfortable gun to use....The grip is huge....I mean huge...I don't care if they say it is a 45 grip ...its not were talking like desert eagle size...50 cal. And as you pointed out before the vert feed is close to the end....and it is kinda unballanced....But Im not gona tell you not to get it if thats your dream gun....They are nice in what they can do....just kinda a weird way of having a gun....and yes that would be a nice impulse...

Hahaha, the only reason I did want one was because of the video! But I'm not gonna think about tourney guns for anytime soon, if my Millenium performs well I'll fork out $400 to buy a HPA tank, reg and low pressure springs. Voila!

Have any of you held an Impulse? I held one for a short sec but forget how it felt. Bushmasters/Defiants feel niiice, I love those guns, nice and small.

Yeah I held an impulse, and I was VERY suprised. I expected it to be clunky or that the foregrip was too close to thetrigger frame, but it was neither.

It was light, and would certainly allow for some nice snap shooting.

I can't wait to get mine :0

think i fell deep in the **** in politics about paintball guns. you guys all have professional opinions.so what the **** do i need to get into tourney's, i just bought a Spyder Xtra, and now i know i have just bought a low end semi.. but i still kick *** with it, but for real I never went against an angel or many electros, now i hear youz yapping about an Impulse or whatev, and ya got me a hard on for an electro, i know not to soup this green ****er up too much caus it won't perform for the $$$ i sunk into it. everyone says i'd be untouchable with an electro, hook me up with info what do i do. do i keep this Spyder for back up, save my money for a new electro, or just soup this one up a little more for now, i only went out a few times but definetly a true soldier, so don't tell me to go jerk off a little more to see how I feel about the sport,, done it! ,love it!,,but i want the top of the line gun, not one of the top but the top of the line,,i'm thinking an Angel but really i don't ****.So i'm thinking with my killa instinct the army is giving me(infantry)and with the beat gun in the world, i'd say that would be a good combo .. oh ya , everybody likes playing with, i guess you call it newbies, ya **** thats funny,I am a newbie and everyone knows not to play with me. i go for the back of the head. and usually succeed . i am the new playa. watch out for my team in the tourney's up ahead, oh ya!! in a daze , i think i love myself a little too much, k hook me up with info

Hey...whatssup...first of all you have to see what kinda gun style you like...and what type of results you want from the gun....If you get an angel,,,all you are getting is a high rate of fire....That is it...past 25 yards the thing is so inacurate you will be lucky to hit the barn all together..forget about just hitting the side of it.

The impulse like we were talking about is a decent electro with a max rate of fire of 11balls per sec. It feels a little bit more like a spyder...it works on a lower pressure then most guns to reduce ball chopping.

Also if you like spyders and someone tells you to buy kingmans new EM1...don't...I personally witnessed a guy testing one out for like two ours at our local shop...te guy selling it was like " I don't recomend these but if you want it you can test it out" The connector pin that goes from the bolt to the hammer...Big metal rod...broke clean in two...funny for me and Race but not the guy wanting to buy it.

Anyways..there are so many other guns other then an angel that are better and cheaper. If you like the angel style and all that consider a boblong Intimidator..shoots at very high rates of fire...all the fire modes.(full auto turbo), is very light, but is more accurate then the angel...by alot.

Then there is the shocker...big bro to the impulse...this is what I have...I love it to pieces but others have differing opinions...The shocker has a max rate of fire of 11.5 balls per sec. It works off low pressure so you will never chop paint...It is a little cheaper then the intimidator. The part that comes ito question is that it is a little heavier then most guns...and looks bulky...It was build for function...not to win a beauty contest...Yes it is a little heavier...but we are only talking like a max of 2.5 pounds...so you have to be a real wuss to say... "oh its way to heavy for me"...I see girls using them...ha.

Then there is the defiant...don't know much about this but it is refered to as the poor mans angel..has all the toots and whistles of an elecro and I havn't heard too many bad things about these...but it is in the same range as an impulse and being that that is the case I would get the impulse...which runs on a lower pressure to reduce ball chopping.

Angels again shoot fast, not accurate, and cost a fortune..especially or us Canadians...there are better guns for better money.

For what you have right now...play with it and have fun...get a rev and you should be able to do alright if you start playing some tourny type games...then save your money...cause its onna cost ya...to go to an electro...the ood thin is that if you get a rev for your spyder, that is one less thing you have to buy for your new electro. but for an intimidatorpacage...with air and reg and stuff your looking at around 2G's...an impulse will be around 1300 for a package, shocker again a litle under 2G's, defiant...about te same as an impulse...the only thing with the shocker and imulse is that you don't have to buy a regulator like you will with most of the other guns...they come stock with the maxflo...it is one of the most consisten regs out there...and if you really wanna go for an angel...your looking at a little under 3G's probably...these are all for brand spanking new stuff I'm quoting...

For info on arena ball of tourny type ball go to http://www.warpig.com and look at some of their pictures and go into their resource files and watch some tournaments over the internet...

Hope I helped you...and word to the wise man...cut down a little on the cussing..I'm best friends with theflash...he's the moderator and he likes his forums a little cleaner...aight...talk to ya later and I hope this long shpiel helped.

Hadoken, if you wanna see some reviews on some of the most widely used tournament guns, check out
http://www.pbstar.com
Great reviews. For tourneys I'm actually thinking about getting an Automag. Cheap compared to electros, AGD (company who makes em) is very respected and has been around for along time, and the Mag is very durable and easy to maintain. You can get powerfeed mags for about $450 at
http://www.canadianpaintball.com (<-- great prices)
Pyro sure helped out with that gigantic post. Guess there's nothing left for me to say :) J5

I know the post is long...I got finished and looked up and was like...holy crap...and no it really isn't worth the money you would have to put into the gun to make it better...I think that after paying like 3G's for a setup the thing should kill people by itself...youe know what I'm saying...it should do cartwheels on command. Anyways...I got a shocker and the weight isn't all that bad ...I like it and its worth every penny I paid for it...definately something you wanna look at...and if you want a little lighter gun go for the impulse..still not a bad gun...

Go to http://www.paintballstar.com

There are reviews on the major guns there...very good to look at and lots of good info on them...good luck in your search...by the way...where do you live....and play and stuff?

I bought the gun from canadianpaintball (http://www.canadianpaintball.com) about 3 weeks ago. It was on backorder, that's why it's not here. That paintshop's website is http://members.home.com/sincustom/ it'll probably cost $40 or so. Not a bad price. There's a design I wanna get done. The tiger paint on the mag, except mine will be blue and black.
