If I was to buy just a regular black impulse from paintballgear.com would it come with a maxflo regulator? Would the Maxflo Regulator and a tubeworm be all I need to start off and do you think I would be able to do the other upgrades later?

yes every imp comes with a maxflo. Thats what i did . i got a stock and upgraded it. Now i have one with full freak, lpr, werm undertow bolt,nd trigger, and nd valve cap. I would suggest buying it from E-paintballoutlet.com and having them install the tapeworm. Stock barrel is also good.

to start off all you need is a stock imp, a good hopper (at least a 12v revvy), and a tank (if you go for co2 make sure it has a properly fitted anti-siphon and on/off)

everything else you can get later.

the stock imp is a brilliant marker (thats why i'm proud of my sig, i do keep on meaning to upgrade but i am a student and broke), and i'm sure you will fall in love with yours

oh, and its tapeworm, not tubeworm. its not needed, but it will improve concictency, and eliminate bolt stick

hope this helps, feel free to PM me with any questions

Is a low pressure regulator necessary? And if so, what does it do and what one would I want to get? I'm not looking to spend too much money right now.

Also, do I need a vertical adapter because they cost like $20.00 bucs. I thought the Impulse came with the maxflo so I was only going to buy a tapeworm and install it myself. Paintballgear.com has much better impulse prices than EPBO they just don't have as much stuff.

One more question, when I went to create my custom impulse on EPBO they asked me if I wanted front grips. I don't even know what they are talking about. I thought maybe they were talking about a gas-through grip but that should come with the impulse anyway. Thanks for your help.

ok, here goes

1) an LPR (low pressure regulator) is not necesary, it is a add on that does the same job (essentially) as the tape worm, but does it better, you will not need one, and for the price a tapeworm is a very good alternative-btw if you order from EPBO they should install the tapeworm for you.

2) you do not need a vertical adaptor, with the stock imp you get a horizontal max-flo, if you get a vertical adaptor you can then use it to mount your max-flo vertically, and have it instead of a gas thru grip.

3) they are asking you if you want a gadget gas-thru fore-grip, this is different to the stock gas thru grip that comes with the impulse as it has a built in barrel bung in the bottom, and has some minor cosmetic differences.

please note that if you buy from EPBO, phone them, as they will get your order through quicker than if you order online, they will also be able to clear up any other small problems that you may have. - i am not being biased towards EPBO, its just that i know more about them and so am trying to make it easier if you buy from them, but i know that paintballgear is also quite good, its just that they aren't mentioned in these forums as much

again, if you have any more questions feel free to PM me

Goto www.xpaintball.com and check out their Impulses. I think they are $389 and they give you the gadget grip.
