Wgp claims they will not be manufacturing electronic guns becuase they do not like the idea of lobbing out 14bps (nor do i) but they will soon be making pivot cocker frames for the future electro cockers....

No, they'll be making electro frames for the cocker, straight from the mouth of the devil (Budd Orr is the devil after all. So is John Rice. The Gardners probably too) himself. Check out the pigTv coverage of the Mardi gras 2001 tourney.

convert to smartpartsism, you'll see thhe light

Smartpartism: The act of believing closed bolt fires farther, and spiral holes give a barrel more range :D:D

I thought on that interview they said something about developing an electro marker as well? They had better develop something innovative, or they are going to sink.

yeah i though they were implying that their was a new marker in development, thats why i asked

I don't know about the spiral holes giving range, but I think they might spin the ball in the right gun. My Impulse has a Teardrop barrel and when I fire it the balls make a really wierd whoosh noise when they fly through the air. People get freaked out by it. I'm not talking about when they fly past your bunker. You can be standing like 20 feet away.

I think making a cocker electronic is a bad idea. It's really cool the way all the parts work together at the right time to make it fire so fast. Add electronics...and suddenly it's not so cool any more. :(

You'd have to spin the ball at 6000 rpm to get any significant increase in accuracy. it just aint happening

i didnt know wgp is coming out with an electro
sounds pretty stupid to me since the f5 is already out and is nicely aging into reliability and is improving
unless of course they come out with a completely new design, but then there are all those other electros out there to compete against
they should stick to semi and keep production costs down...

6000 rpm doesnt sound that hard for a paintball considering that it has a very small circumference and would rotate 100 rotations per second
which would make the ball spin at about 10-15 feet per second, not impossible since the paintball shoots at about 2-3 times that rate
this may not be perfectly accurate since im doing this from the top of my head
but then, this spin is horizontal from where the barrel is pointing, and is not vertical (like in a flatline barrel) so it may not be possible

Yeah but I'm saying that no barrel will have enough spiral porting or rifling to spin a ball from 0 rpm to 6000 over 12 inches. Think of it this way, assuming you're chronied in at 270 fps, and your barrel is 12 inches long, the ball has to pick up 6000 rpms in the span of 1 270th of a second. That's 37 thousanths of a second. Even if it were possible, I think the ball would rip apart under that stress.

wgp electro suppose to come out when the black magics came out... however they were bugs that needed to be fixed. the only thing out from the wgp, is the new pivot "swing" trigger. This trigger has been currently out for a couple months...

Plus, the spin has to be on one axis, every time. That is not possible for a paintball if you want rotational spin really. You would need something shaped like a bullet.
