Hah, I have been playing PB for about a year now and I still don't know what a beaver tail is, at first I thought it was an extended cocking knob, but when I was looking at the system x frame (which I am planning to get for my soon to be 99' cocker) it appered to be bonded to the metal of the frame, so im clueless, thanks in advance...

Its a piece of metal which acts like a barrier since the reaer cocking knob can smack you in the lenses.
The autocockers all have beaver tails (some like to take off thier beaver tails but i like it on). It just protects the user from getting smacked by the bolt or the back block.

Here's an example of the autococker's beaver tail.
It stops the user from getting to close to the back block when its cocked back.

the main 2 reasons for the beaver tail are: to protect your lenses from being hit by the bolt, and for cosmetics

Also, on 'cockers it serves to prevent cheaters from putting pressure on the cocking rod and shooting hot.
Cheaters suck. :pissed:

=) just sounds kinda funny that you would need something to tell you from not spacking your gogs, but hey I guess when it saves my spectra thermals I will change my opinion =)
Sixx-
And what do you mean "putting pressure on the cocking rod" what "pressure" and how is it "put on" (like by hand or something?)
