In your opinion, what do you think was/is the best pumpgun in terms of accuracy, range, and feel?

I think the CCI Phantom is the most accurate gun with long range! It feels cool being small and compact. I got the VSC model with .45 grip and 11 inch barrel. It rocks and is small and great for sniping, or you can be aggressive using the autotrigger! This is definitely my favorite gun!

g2g with the carter buzzard... it has amazing feel, rubber grips, lapco barrel stock, aluminum milled feed tube, and a all aluminum pump handel. I've only shot one a handful of times, but i could hit a paper plate at 100 yards just using the the barrel site!! it was the most amazing gun i've ever shot

just picking at nits here, but carters come w/carter barrels stock... which would essentially make them Dye barrels... but yes, carters are magnificent guns... price vs. performance, though, when it comes to trick pumps, you can't beat the phantom.
although... that short and nasty palmer's pump... droool...

to me there's a tie. any palmer pumps and the phantom. I might pick up a palmer pump along with a phantom, since I'm pump-addict and that's how I got into the sport was shooting pumps.

I stand corrected now. the micro phantom is the best damn thing I've ever seen. sure it's just a smaller barrel basically but it's real nice that way.

If money mattered, would you still reccommend the guns that you are. What is the best value in pump guns? I'm not talking about price.... more value for the dollar.

well if you mean stock out of the box i would have to say a phantom or a sniper 2. if you meant with addons i would still go with the sniper 2, it's a great marker and very upgradable.

Phantom. When I shot one of my semi-packing pals from half-way across the field twice in the same day, I was sold. (and he was pissed)

Phantom is by far the best "modern" pumps however I also like the ol' Bushmaster SI's. It takes a real paintball player to be able to walk on a field with a pump and be able to take on the high end semis with confidence.

I rebuilt an old Brass Eagle King Cobra for a friend. Man that thing could shoot! I couldn't believe how accurate it was, and it was stock! No sight, I kept putting ball on top of ball.
I've only used this, a PGP, SL68, Razorback, and various trracers and maverics w/ various barrels. A friend of mine has a phantom but I haven't had the opportunity to try it, but out of all the others I've tried I like the King Cobra.
Felt like a shotgun, shot like a .22

I just bought my first phantom yesterday. and OMFG is it awesome. Phantoms are made in Oregon so support for it will be easy to obtain. the gun shoots straight and far. i put a silencer on it and it is VERY quiet. if you have the chance to pick up a phantom at a good price don't pass it up! i can't wait to convert this baby to stock class. i'll post pix soon.

I gotta say Phantom. It's the most easily converted pump out there (stock class, VSC, gravity feed, center feed etc). I love mine.

I noticed that The sterling pump is not up here, lots of phantom(But that nice to see) The sterling pump was know for its accuricy and it compares with the phantom. But i think (dont quote me on this) the stp pump is out of print so its hard to come by.

I have to say,
My line SI bushmaster is by far one of the most relable and acurate markers in my pump collection. Had the phantom and my line SI outshoots it in distance and acuracy. Only down side is finding parts.
Lucky for me I have a box of replacement parts I picked up here and there.

There are many good guns out there but they have their pros and cons.
1: Phantom, the public's and my personal preference: Limited upgrades, but comes EXCELLENT right out of the box.
2: Sniper II/III, many cocker fans choice and the public's: Very high upgrade path, but expensive and needs a regulator and a new barrel
3: Bushmaster SI, hard to find but good
4: The tippmann pump, I have seen it shoot...not that impressed compared to a phantom or Sniper II
5: Kingmann Hammer. Really cheap, pretty accurate. Not that impressed however. a good buy if first getting into pumps.
6: then there are the rare ones out there which I don't have enough experience to talk about
7: there are more out there. Just search around. Check out some of Palmer's pumps. Those things are VERY nice. very accurate but they are pricey since each one is custom hand built.
www.palmer-pursuit.com if you instrested in some of the nicest custom guns in paintball today
I personnaly recomend the Phantom if you want excellent out of the box performance, and no upgrades required. Or the Sniper II if you like the Syle, upgradeablitly, and SHot of a Cocker because they are almost EXACLTY the same thing. one is semi, one is pump. Plus with the Sniper II/III you can change it into a cocker for like 15 dollars....pretty cool huh?
hope I helped. email me with questions
peace

the CCM!!!!!! ok i havn't actually shot one but it's a pump gun that costs 1000$US and no that's not a typo.. if u want a pic there were details in the December Issue of Action Pursuit Games.
i'd like to know if anyone has shot it and if it was any good. it'd better be for 1000$

chipley's custom machine snipers are largely cosmetic custom work (mill n'ano), in addition to that SEXY pump setup.... I'd imagine that it'd would shoot like a beaut, much like any other finely tuned gun (pump or otherwise). As soon as cocker #2 gets built, I'm looking into a chipley pump for my current cocker.
As far as excellent entry level pumps go, I'd say trracer, or whicher trracer clone it is that has the adjustable bolt. those are hardy little pumpers, and I was impressed by it's stock accuracy (and they were field rentals, god only knows HOW old)

I'd say as zen said, " Sniper II's are damn sexy". They are.
But I still stick with a phantom from out of the box performance and also they are very easy to fix and maintain while with a Sniper II they are much more complicated jsut like a Cocker. It's all in Money amount and preference. If you ahve money get the Sniper II and trick it out. If you are short on budget get a Phantom
