It is used to secure certain parts on guns that screw together. I personally do not, and probabally never will use it.

Teflon tape is a non-adhesive tape. I used it on my Micro-Line connections ... I wrapped it around the fittings before screwing them together ... it aids in forming an airtight seal.

Ritche from team image who did up my autococker real nice used a miniscule amount of teflon tape to secure all my front end fittings and the stuff is great for my macro line fittings. its also water proof!

be careful when you say red loctite... ;) it can get quite confusing. You want to use medium strength loctite (BLUE liquid in a RED tube). This gets confusing because the strong loctite (the kind that is impossible to loosen) is actually a red liquid. So botom line, read the labels and make sure you are using medium, also just add a drop to the threads, no need to overkill it... oh yeah, and let it dry before you shoot your gun, it only takes a few minutes.

Don't use tape on micro fitting except on the pipe thread portion, not on the compression fitting. Also don't use any type of thread loctite product thats not what its for...doh. Use loctite or any other brand of 'sealing' liquid like 'Loctite Stud Sealer' thats what will give you airtight fittings and also vibration loosening protection. Generally you dont ever need that even unless you've screwed up the fittings threads , since air fitting use compression to seal ie. the entry end is slightly smaller than the following threads like this \/ so as you screw the fitting in it gets larger and tighter.

That damn red loctite... my paintball shop told me that they would put some of it on the steel hose that goes into my xchamber... but when i tried to unscrew it, i ended up stripping the bolt on the line! It wasnt totally ruined but im not going to try to unscrew it again.

If you loose your O- ring on your barrel- put some on the threads. My friend did. It works.
