Well I bought an older minimag im restoring it the guy put some coating over the anodizing cause he didint like it there's milled spots where its in i removed his crap and in the processes disrupted the anodizing job by rubbing to hard. Now that it looks funkified i wanna just strip all the anodizing I couldnt remove anymore with fingernail polish remover etc.. Am i going to have to run it through a buffing machine to clean it out ? this is the plate between the gun frame and the top area with barrel and valve (forgive me i dont know a whole lot about mags)

use easy off oven cleaner. or use drain-o drain cleaner. if you use drain cleaner don't let it sit in to long at a time. drain cleaner is part of the stuff I use when I first start out to anno. but it will remove it to.

Nitric Acid. If you're going to re annodize it you're gonna have to putt it in this to get EVERYTHING off from dirt to the oils in your skin.

The mags not alumininum its stainless steel so it cant be donizing .It's probably powder coating.
Had to say that, but im afraid i dont know how to get it off besides a bit of sandpaper, a lot of time and elbow grease.

A solution of lye and water also works, or so I'm told.
