View Full Version : Dead man walkin'
has anyone ever done a dead man's walk before? for example pretended to be dead and walked almost off the field then turned around and shot up everybody on the other team. If you have how did the other team respond and how did the spectators respond. I once had a ref tell me to do it during a friendly game and I just told him that I don't play dirty and kept playing, I got out but at least it was honorable. I just want to know if it's an accepted tactic at your field and have you ever tried it?

No, no that's considered cheating where I play. It's just like if you call yourself out before seeing if the ball actually broke. If it didn't, but you called yourself out, you can't just say, "Whoops, my bad, I'm still alive," and then shoot somebody.
And I can't BELIEVE these alleged refs who advocate this crap.
I've never tried it but I think the only way you can actually get by with in is if you never put your hands up or say anything. If there are several of your teammates that are leaving the field you could walk with them but don't put your barrel plug in or put your hands in the air. I don't like the idea because it leaves people the option to shoot me in the back but I guess if you don't do anything to officially declare yourself out and no one notices it then it's ok.

at my field the term "dead man walking" means just that. If you call yourself out, you are OUT! even if it turns out that paint didn't break on you, and you call yourself out... take a seat, and get ready for the next game!

If you do this, you can't call yourself out. I wouldn't try it. If my team won, it just wouldn't be the same, and I don't think that it would be as fun for either team. But thats just my opinion.

It's sad to hear some people talk.
"Thats what my friend does. Hell go to where the enemy is and act like hes on the team and get behind them and light them up with like crazy. Im gonna do the same thing next time I go"
What kind of statement is that? Light them up like crazy? Let me give you a peice of advise, ask them (Quietly) to surrender and save them the pain. They WILL remember you the next round and may make life 'unpleasant' for you.
Personally, were you to walk up to me and light me up like crazy, you tell me that it's OK to return the favor and you WOULD regret it by the end of the day. That I guarantee.
Try to show some sportsmanship, and treat other players like you would want to be treated.

One of the BAD things about doing a DMW is that it makes everyone paranoid. After somebody pulls that stunt, anybody and everybody with or without a barrel plug in will get shot "just to make sure." It makes the game bad for everyone. If you want to do a DMW, save it until the last game of the day. Then jump in your car and head for home!

I believe it is legal, although you really shouldn't be doing it. Believe it or not, you should WANT the other teams to like you. One of my friends saw this happen on ESPN paintball one day: During a pro tournament (maybe NPPL), the captain of one team raised his gun above his head and walked toward the end of the field, signifying he was out. However, he did NOT put his barrel plug in, and he did not have paint on him,, so legally he was still in. He walked behind enemy lines and shot half of the team before he got hit.
DO NOT DO THIS. Yes, it is legal. However, nobody will ever play with you again.

I have pulled it off a few times but at a high cost whenever I have not made it. I will some times stand up and start to walk towards the exit of the netting. My hands never leave my gun, (forgot to say)Gun stays at firing positon or pointing down, I say nothing, and no barrel plug goes in. SO when it works it is beautiful and legal and when it dosen't I get turned into a rainbow.
