I was wondering I have been playing for about 5 months an I have somewhat been master of my domain in paintball. I know I'm never reay enough or good enough yet or the best but I feel like I'm ready for a tourney. Whenever I feel ready to like get into one I get scared and wonder who's gonna be able to kick my *** in this game. So I was wondering how prepared should a player be when he is ready for a tourney if not how can he train or get ready?
When you feel the time is right you will know, I know that sounds like something Yoda would say but it is true. If you are not finding rec play at your local field a challange then maby it is time to go on. The best thing to do is start small. I have palyed in several small local tournaments and am now planning on having a 3 man in the Autococker open in Springfield, Mo. in June. This is the first real orgnized tourney I will play in but I feel that I am ready for the challenge. As for being scaird about someong kicking your A**, That is the only good way to learn how to play better, If you play and get ran over then you have now learned that what ever you did that time is wrong and you need to do something different next time. Don't worry about loseing, That only leads to someone who becomes a bad attitude palyer. Be courtious to the other players and reffs, and don't be a punk.
Also, a suggestion is to maby go and just attend some tourneys before you play. If they are speed ball where you can watch without worrying about being hit then watch the teams play. Learn how they move, Watch the angles they play and how they cover eachother. Watching and thinking is probablly the second best way to learn how to be a better player, The first is to go out there and play and learn from your mistakes. Only then will you truely become a Jedi. Good luck.

I say if you want to play tourney, and have a team that you feel confident playing with, then just play and have fun.

I went in to a free local tourney with nothing but a Stingray, 12 OZ C02, and a VL200 once. As you can imagine my @$$ was completely lit up the entire day.

when you feel can handel the pressure of it.Seen alot of rec players that are good but you put them in a pressure spot and they fold.

Try playing a couple of tourneys at your local feilds, local feilds hold tourneys like once a month, and once you get ready for that you can move on, get sponsors, and go to your ameteur AorB tourney, and if you luckey you might make it to Pro!
