I'm new to paintball and im now considering a gun. I really like the pt extreme, but most people say i cant be used as your primary marker. Is it possible i could use it as an primary or maybe upgrade it so it would be possible, if not what other gun would u recomend buying in the $200 price range?

Forget the pt extreme. It uses a co2 cartridge ,not a tank, witch means that every 30 shots you ll have to change it.Also the magazine holds only ten rounds. For 200 bucks you can get a piranha sts g2,which is great.A cheaper but great marker is the spyder compat 2000.You ll spend half the money and then, after seeing its performance, make any upgrades you like.If you go for the 2000 dont forget to buy a bottom line.

um........... you can not use the pt as a primary gun it is 12 gram reliable wicth means you will have to change your co2s and for like a pack of 6 of em is 8 bucks and you only get a few shots out of em so i say get a spyder or a rebel

Maybe you should look into a rebel. They look a lot like the PT extreme, but could be used as your main gun.

carful some spyders suck. You know how the saying goes a spyder made on Wensday is better then one made on Monday or Friaday because they want to get out of working hard.

Since we're on the topic of Spyders, I'd just like to put in that I've got a Compact 2-in-1, and it's served me well so far. I've heard similar things from other people who have them. Keep that one in mind when you do your shopping - it's cheap, upgradeable, and pretty good stock.

Go with a piranha sts g2, i got a g3 the other day and i love it. the only difference between a g2 and a g3 is the price really. it only costs about 160 too. an xtra is great too, its only ten bucks more and made by kingman.

Hey nimo I'll sell you my brand new Piranha STS G3. I've hardly ever used it. Comes with the warranty and everything else it came with. PM me if your interested in it. (sorry I know this isnt the buying/selling forum.)

I agree with everyone. These days it is difficult to use a marker that is powered by a 12g to be your primary marker. If you want to stay with that type of marker I reccommend the Punisher. It is available at http://www.iisports.com

But if you want a marker that will work much better as a primary marker, it depends on how much you want to spend. On the starter end I would reccommend the Spyder or the Pirahna.

TL+ or an SE as your first gun, very upgradable and reliable. Get the PT Extreme as a sidearm if you want to but it will never hold up in a fight.
