You just got go out there and do it. Before I played paintball, I was afraid of getting shot, until I got shot the first time and I realized it isn't that bad. I would say it's the equivilant of getting shot with a rubber band at close range. It stings for about 30 seconds.

there is no drills... just take it... certain places do hurt... i.e. neck, top of head (depends), groin, thats about it... every place else is like nothing after awhile.... of course getting bunkered and they hit in the three above it will HURT...

well there could be some drills. my friends and i like to just send one person out in the field, so the rest of the people can shoot at the person(the person who is getting shot at is suppose to run around). i know it seems kinda stupid but it's actually pretty fun and it's a good way of growing some balls about getting shot.

I was really worried cause my first game was with another newbie and we both had prolites and the other two had autocockers. My first being hit, I got hit in the top of the head. Left a bump but didn't really hurt that much.

before my first tourney someone on my team suggested that we should stand 20 feel from the person and each shoot him twice in the back. he went first (volunteered). no one else did it though...lol

I dont know why your askin this cranberry. By your sig it looks like you at least have a little experience. Enough to get shot anyway but to answer your question, there arent really any drills an dpaintballs barely hurt unless you get shot at close range or with a hot gun.

here is a drill for you. The way to get used to getting shot is to get shot. Right? So either you jsut play alot and get shot or try this drill out.
I read this in the forum a while ago. Crazy. dont remember who wrote it, so if you did let me know I will give you credit.
Have minimum of 3 players. Have everyone stand in a circle. I reccommend as much safety gear as you can wear, goggles, cup etc. Then every one just unloads on each other. You keep shooting until you give up and step out of the circle. Last one standing in the circle wins.
Well... in the post that I read someone had gotten shot over 200 times. CRAZY!! Im not sure if that would make me less or more scared of getting shot. But hey if the idea is practive makes perfect, this is along those lines...

this weekend i was playing and on opening play... i ran to the 30, but on the way there, i trip and fell, and on the way down 6 hit me and bounced off, as i dove head first... i landed and slid about 4 feet, and then got lit up 30 times by the opposing team, i was tryin to raise my hand (to tell those *******s stop shooting)... when i got checked out in the dead box, only one broke and it was on my back, the rest just bounced off... was i scared off getting lit???? not really, i was more freaked out my gun getting scratched than anything else... but thats just me... once the adrenaline starts pumping you up, paintballs hits will feel like nothing...

Wearing body armor would defeat the purpose of FEELING THE PAIN. DO YOU FEEL THE PAIN?!?

find a big game where you just regenerate when you get killed and get back into the game. I counted bruises last time and I only had 33, so it was a slow day.
remember, paintball is about 80 percent attitude and about 20 percent shooting skill. If you go out and play balls to the wall each time, soon you forget about the small stuff, like getting shot at. I play so much that I kind of look forward to getting hit a couple of times. I know that is kind of sick or something, but you get used to the addrenaline rushes. I don't even feel the shots anymore, unless its in a soft spot :).

when you first play you get shot and it hurts, but after a while you only feel em when they dont break, so you never really feel when yur out. also if you get yurslef bunkered well than you should only get hit in the mask/head, mabey arms or gun. other than that you should eb covered. unles you get ambushed or hit when runnin
The feeling after you just charged a bunker and allowed your team to get the flag while taking a hit alway overrides the sting of the paintball

as preditor said, it is like being shot with a rubber band, so i (hey, it works) have my friends give me bee stings with rubber bands to build up the tollerance level! i know you think i am dumb, but it works for me.

wait. Is it just me, or after you play for a few years, doesn't your body just get used to the impact pain? I rarely even feel it. But after the day is over i see the marks.
the biggest thing i get is hitting thorn bushes and stuff.

Basically I had two of my friends shoot me one time each in the back from 20-25 feet. Basically I would say give that a whirl just to give you an idea of what it will feel like. My take on it is if someone took a marble and threw it at you. You initially feel a sting then it goes away after a few seconds. Don't be alarmed over the bruise, it'll go away in a few days. Mine looked like little rings, it was cute. Anyway just go out and try it.

Dont think about it. The thought of gettin shot never crosses my mind in a paintball game. I go in with the attitude that I'm going to play well enough that nobody can touch me. I push my luck and make agressive moves, because I wait for the right opportunities. You can play agressive and still play smart, paintball is a game of calculated risks. Go in with the attitude that you wont get shot, and you wont worry about it. This isnt to say I never get shot, i do, bunker moves dont always work, snap shooting isnt always timed right, and sometimes I just mess up. But each time it happens, put it behind you for next game and dont consider being shot an option, you'll be able to focus on your game alot better, and you'll be more confident a player

I know of one drill you can do to help you get used to being shot. Have you and a friend each stand about 100 yards apart. You each get one shot at the other person, and he can't move. If you miss, you each take one giant step forward and do it again. I'm not sure what you're supposed to do if you hit them. If you get yourself to stand still, you will probably conquer you fear of getting shot. (Note when you do this drill, you might want to put your gun in front of your sensitive area.)

I have one more drill that you can do to help you overcome your fear. Stand back to back with your one or more people. Put your guns about 10-15 yards directly in front of you. Then you all run for your guns as fast as you can and try to shoot the other people.
Dude without the adrenaline of play paintballs hurt like hell. I recently had a friend who wanted to know what it felt like to be shot. I stood about 40 feet from him and hit him in the lower back and he jumped around a little bit but later said it wasn't that bad. He wanted a little revenge so I let him shoot me back. He being new to paintball couln't aim and shot me in the back of the head behind the ear. It hurt like hell

jake is right, the adrenalin helps the apin. when i was the only one with a gun my 2 friends ran around and i shot at them. i hit my frind in the back from like 50 feet and he was on the ground for a while

I always think that the first hit of the day is the worst. After that, i remember that it really doesn't hurt that much and go into the game with that attitude. Don't be a pansy though, I absolutly hate people who just stand back so they don't get shot.
An example. We're playing an un-evenly matched game of center flag on a fairly small woods field. My two frineds find a place where they absolutly cannot be shot and stay there the whole game without shooting a single round. I and another person are up front trying to fend off 4 other players... we were unsuccessful. Even when the opposing team was wide out in the open, the two just stayed back in the brush on their knees. You don't know how mad at them I was..
For a drill though, we played a game were you have 200 rounds and when the whistle blows it's a free for all. You can get hit as many times as you want or until you run out of paint. It worked for me at least..

I know that paintballs hurt if your adrenaline isn't flowing. That first drill probably wasn't a good idea. The second drill, where you stand back to back, that would probably work pretty well to help you conquer your fear.

basically just grow some balls and stop being a p***y and go out there and play and if you get shot suck it up nd stop being a woman

me and a friend stood apart from each other. my friend shoots me once, then i shoot him back. we keep doing this back and forth. we did this untill we ran out of paint in our hoppers or one person gives up. it helps to lessen the fear of getting hit, by getting hit. by the end of the day we were all purple! people were like "you guys are crazy" but oh well
so you stand around trading hits with your guns wasting paint???

Just get shot from 20 feet away
it stings for maybe 5 seconds then you forget
well if you get bunkered that is another story.

Dude getting hit is no big deal. Your mind is so foccused on different things like getting the hell out of there that you barely notice. All that adrennaline helps out. **** i have a friend who enjoys being shot. Someone just got a brand new bruizer and he offered to be shot... haha shot him right in the back of the head. He didnt have a hat on either, and he was fine 15 seconds later. :)
