Spyder Cup Cheapness

Man, I just read that you can only use Kingman markers in the Spyder cup. HOW CHEAP. It reaks of "We are the only company with markers good enough to play a tourney with" BULLPOO. I am really starting to not like Kingman very much.

well, if i was kingman and i was hosting the spyder cup i would do the same. fu*k competiting companies, if we are gonna have a tourney i want to make a sh*tload of money by attracting people to buy my marker instead of the competition so they can play in my tourney

Well if you think about it it kinda evens the playing field and makes it more about skill....yes its stupid that its only their brand of markers but it gets rid of all the electros...except for their "amazing new EM1" hahahahahaha/.....nayways...yeah..thats my shpiel

You've got to be kidding.......think about it.....IT'S THE SPYDER CUP.....not the angel cup.....or autococker cup....it's their event...they supply the awards...they pay for advertsing...so .of course they want you to use their markers....

Kinda like how at the BE Aruba tourney, you gotta use all BE gear except for your marker, air and regulator. Though, since they own JT, theoretically this year you should be able to use JT stuff. Myself, I dont really trust my eyes to brass eagle, so i wouldnt be wearin them goggles

Kingman is only promoting itself and thats what every company does. Its hosting the tourney, Kingman doesnt want to see some expert with his angel tearing Spyders to shreds, looks bad for Kingman. I dont blame them but i think they should just give Kingman/Spyder prizes to promote themselves, not exclude non-Spyder owners.

if they allowed all gunbs, non one would really have spyders cuz they aint that good compared to other guns. if there were tournaments sponsored by autococker, a lot of people would already have em and wouldnt need to worry about not having anyone with their own guns in their own tourny

i think they have the right to only allow there brand of markers in the tournament,. They pay for everything, why not? Plus, its kind of cool to see how some guys trick out there spyder markers.

its the spyder cup, made by the kingman company why would you be mad at a company for trying to make some money, if you don't like spyders than don't play in the tourny, there are plenty of alternative tournaments on Memorial day weekend. Plus its not a pro tourny its amatuer(i think) so maybe their trying to let some players who only have spyders and can't play in normal tourneys with them try a tournament

Yeah, I'm morally opposed to the Spyder Cup. It's marketed as a way for newbies to get into the tournament with their low end guns and not to have to worry about getting stomped on by pros with angels. Newbies go "Oh hey awesome, I could win a car, and I've been playing with my spyder for a year, this'll be fun". Unfortunately, though they wont get stomped on by pros with angels, they get stomped on by amateur A class players, using a spyder bought specifically for the event that will probably get sold right after. I'd like to see them limit the player level to rookie at best, I mean first tourney players vs the KAPP factory team...

mabey they could do a price limitation on upgrades or something like that or cant play in an amuateur tourny before 2 years ago or something. but if that was the case the prize wouldnt be cars-not enough money brought in

yeah, if i had ever wanted to sell my gun, two weeks ago would have been perfect time to put it on ebay, because im sure people would be searching for tricked spyders to use.

TLPLUS84, u and me ought to go down to the spyder cup, and just sit there, wait for some amatuer level guy's gun to break down, and then sell them our guns for twice as much as there worth. The sad part is, i bet u we could get it too, lol.

kingman does put limits on what you can do to your marker......I had read the rules...somewhere??....something about the guns have to be pretty much stock....Internally .(if I remember correct).and ."A damn fool".....they for sue wouldn't let your marker in there...*LOL

Kinda sucks that you have to use Kingman bodies, no Millenium bodies. Damn, no Pittsburgh for me. This tourney is HUGE though, three days and only Spyders, only Kingman could make somethin like this happen...well, maybe my mom too. Jus look at the Friggin rewards! If I won that Mitsubishi Spyder I'd give it to my dad until I get my liscence (in August). There should be an Autococker cup. It's just too bad that Bud Orr doesn't even have a pulse (meaning he's as boring as watching paint dry)

they should have two different divisions make one an all gun division that is strictly limited in numbers and not for the cars and then do the "all kingman" division for the cars it would make it more interesting

Kingman put out a 10 minute video patting themselves on the back for the 2000 cup(ask your paintball daler for one if you want, they got them free from Kingman). It explains the event and has interviews with kids that were playing their first tourney and were having a blast getting beat. I think the point of using just Spyders is just to give a glimmer of hope to these kids who would have a hard time even in a rookie division someplace else where every 15 year old has an Angel mommy bought them. As far as ametuers go, no ametuer "A" teams are allowed and I think 3 or 4 of the 8 big prize winners had never won anything before, Kapp and OBR non-withstanding.

Nope, I went to an Aruba tourney and I think they were shooting Java paintballs. Also, no one was wearing B.E. Jerseys, I think you only have to start wearing them in the actual final event. The one I went to is a "Feeder" event, the top teams go to the regional finals. I GET TO WATCH THE REGIONALS TOO, YAY!

That makes sense because how many teams are you going to find willing to play competitive ball in those conditions? The finals I guess no one cares because hey, they're in Aruba.
