I know this is kind of a stupid question, but does anyone know what the rate of fire is for a Spyder Compact 2000? I assume it is like 8-9 shots per second, but I was just wondering. Thanks.

NO!!!
it is defineatly not that high! that is insane!!!
it depends how fast you can pull the trigger, without a trigger job i am thinking that it is around 3-5 bps MAX

how many do you think an xtra can do?
i had a compact back in the day, i would say it shoots about 4-5 bps, i never did any trigger jobs on it though, theoretically speaking you could possibly get that up to 8bps but lets not kid ourselves.

stock? i dunno, i wouldnt say more than 3, the trigger pull is pretty long
i plan on sending mine into polecat after i get a barrel, and after he gets back from the spyder cup, that trigger pull is the distance from the where the trigger is sitting to the where it hits the safety, and there is virtually no resistance, i am thinking you can about 6+ bps with that if you get a good rythm going. i dont like this new trend of people measuring their bps like it makes them superior, mine xtra shoots as fast as i can pull the trigger, it shoots relatively accurate (stock barrel, wgp reg) and i like it. i am only getting the trigger job because i felt Hsuve's and i fell in love :D

However many times you can pull the trigger in one second. No 9 bps is going to come out of any Spyder without some great trigger job tho.

I did the trigger job described in the Blowback forum by TLplus84 and it totally kicks on my compact 2000. I don't have any gas right now to test my actual ROF but I got the pull down to about 3mm if not less. With that short of a pull there isn't really any resistance. I can't wait to play with this in a game.

why does everyone care about how many ablls per second you can get? i never fire that much

remember, its rate, not actual balls shot.firing faster is a big advantage during speedball. shooting more means a greater chance of hitting the target.think about it, u aim at a pencil from 20 yards away, and u take one shot. most likely u wont get it. fire about 100 shots, and i bet u'll get it. same concept.

I knew that you can't really get that many shots per second. I was merely inquiring as to Kingman's theororetical rate of fire for the gun. I can usually judge from that. But thanks, anyways.

wut is kingman's theoretical rate of fire?
wouldnt that have to do simply with the cycle rate? or whatever its called. the gun can shoot as fast as you can pull the trigger, lets just say that

If you have a stock spyder, the rate is about 3-4 per second. If you have a trigger job, about 3-5 a second. Not usually much more.

alright. That is plenty fast for me. I am relatively new to paintball (just over 2 years), and after my first gun broke down I bought a Jackal since I didn't have enough money for anything else. I like it, but it's trigger pull is so hard that I can only get 2-3 shots per second, tops. Now I have the money for something a little better (like the Spyder Compact 2000). I've heard that it's a nice gun.

I bet I could shoot it 10 balls a second, cause I can shoot a Pirahna G2 STS that fast.

ry_goody, you probably don't know what you're talking about. I know people have told you this before, but 10 balls per second is incredibly fast. Certainly much more than you could get with a stock Spyder, even with a trigger job. I remember you admiting before that you've never actually used a machine to tell you how many bps you were firing, and until you do, you don't really know.

its amazing what you can do with any gun if you dont use your regular shooting position and try different positions. if anyon with a rt trigger that has shot it on full speed knows its DAMN fast. well my friends can ALMOST get that high if he holds the gun and trigger a different way. but ofcourse you couldnt actually play in a game and hold the gun that way
