How do I tell the difference between the LP and regular springs for this regulator? I think BBT only sent me regular when I paid for LP. Is there a color difference? Please help!!!

Bad news for you. They look 100 percent exactly the same. I'll check and see if the LP spring can be compressed by hand (It's pretty Fuching stiff) because I know the HP spring cannot no matter what, so of you can compress it even a little it's probably LP. Try hookin it up to your marker or something with a guage. Also, if you back the LP vigi all the way out, most markers will mess up completely. Back the LP vigi all the way out and your marker should still fire, even if not very well. I dunno, this is a tough one, why do you think you got an HP one?

well,,i just seend your other post about the gauge. You say it only shows imput pressure, that would be pressure from the tank right? Whats a decent reg that shows the pressure going into the gun after the reg has done its job. I have a cocker and im about to get all my pressure right to go somewhat LP. I also have a 68ci 3k PMI Pure Energy tank which i believe is preset to 800psi... I think this is right,,,,or is it close...

ill have 800psi from the tank into the reg, there its dropped to like 300psi,,then to the front reg on the pnueys, there its dropped to like 70 or something..and if I put a gauge up there on the block what pressure does that read?...i know you dont have a cocker but i was hoping you might have some insight...thanks

When the adjustment nut is all the way in, it that no flow, or all flow? If I have the nut all the way in, the gun shoots fine. I e-mailed AA, and they said LP springs are black, and HP springs are stainless or green. Mine is black, so it should be LP. I guess it is no flow when the nut is all the way out, but that doesn't seem right. Does anyone know for sure?

All the way out is no flow. The way the reg operates is this. At the top of the reg is a pin valve, when the pin is pushed in air flows into the reg. This valve is pushed in by a piston. This piston is pushed upwards against the air pressure by a spring. As the space between the pin and the piston fills with air, the pressure increases, pushing down on the piston. Eventually the pressure will get high enough to push the piston harder than the spring is pushing and the piston will move down and away from the pin. The pin will then be closed off and air will stop flowing into the reg, giving you a set pressure. As you turn the nut in, you put more tension in the spring, and thus more air pressure is needed to push the piston far enough down to close the pin valve. Pull the nut out and there is less pressure. Make sense yet? As for cockers... not my thing, no idea as to what is where on the front block, sorry

Thanks, that actually makes perfect sense. I need to take some pics of my gun....It looks sweet now, I got a SS Lapco Bigshot.
