I'm with twitcho. Get a reg. You've already got the anti-siphon tanks, which help out. But a word of warning- the vertical adapter for model 98s can be a pain in the @$$. My bro tried to install one yesterday, and he ended up stripping his valve when he unscrewed his hose, and then the adapter wouldn't screw all the way into the new valve that he bought...

I am looking at getting a nitro tank.

If I were to get a nitro tank, would a reg really make that much difference?

I was looking at getting a palmer stablizer and a nitro tank, but I'm not sure what the performance advantages/disadvantages would be with nitro.

If anyone could help shed the light it would be appericated.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think there are better regs out there for nitro than the palmer stabilizer. The stab is great for CO2, but there are definitely regs more suited to nitro than the stab. On a side note, I'd like to know what advantages nitro has over CO2 if you've got an anti-siphon tube installed. They're both putting out gas, they're just different gases, so I don't see what difference it would make. Help, anyone?
