It is when you cut patterns into the aluminum of your gun, usually on the body. This is done on the outside, though some guns are milled on the inside such as bonebrake angels

milling is when you cut into the body of a paintball marker. For example, the Shutter has a milled body where the bolt is exposed. The bolt on the shutter is milled as well. It has the holes in it. There are several reasons why people mill their markers.

Mainly for looks, but depending on how much you mill it, it can lighten the marker or increase the performance.

Its mainly for looks. But if you mill enough off, your marker will be alot lighter. You can also mill your bolt, which will make it lighter and help your marker shoot faster. That is the idea behind the milled bolt in the shutter.
