Have Any Of You Played Paintball This Way?!?!?

I was just wondering if any of you play paintball where you can get hit as many times as you want until it hurts so bad you call yourself out? I was wondering because this is how people in my town play most of the time. We play this way for 2 reasons that I know of: 1) We have no refs, 2) Its fun.

We've played a scenario called Alien where you only get out if you get in the chest or the back, but not get hit til it hurts. Alien "burns" enough paint as it is.

I've played games where when you get 'tagged' you simply return to your flag station, and when you wish to rejoin just call 'player in'. and go back in, and get shot, and go back out. We usually do it at the end of the day to get rid of our paint.

I dont get why people would play to hurt. The whole concept of un-neccessary violence just doesnt get through to me. Not just in paintball but alot of guys like hit each other in a friendly way, even though they both secretly resent the other for it. So many people have the thought process "theres my friend, i think ill inflict pain on him" i just dont understand it. Why would you want to hurt someone, you know why pain hurts.. because its bad for your body, its a messgae to the nerves saying this occurence continually can kill me. I dont just say this because im some nerdy guy who gets picked on either. Im 6 foot and am fairly stocky and would have no problem defending myself. I just dot get it, what im sayin is pretty abstract but maybe some of yall get where im komin from. Great things are acheived by thinking simply and looking at the big picture, look at philosiphers. Ive never doen that, but ive played games where u must goggle someone to get them out, and games where gun shots dont count, etc. But we neveer play until the person just dicdes hes been hit enough times, that pretty fawkin stupid.

We play like this cuz there are no refs and some of pur friends never call themselves out so we just all started playing this way. I really though more people than just e would play this way. Heres something that will also prolly piss a bunch more of you off most of my friends turn their guns up all the way. Drako not to be mean or anything but paintballs really dont hurt me all that much and when we play this way I usually dont get hit that much. I have got shot in the hand 4 times and the throat 2 all at 1 time. Another thing yall might not be getting is we play out in these woods with 2 burnt out houses. Most of the time when we get hit it is from at least 50 to 100 feet away but sometimes we do hit people from like 10 feet away or less. Like just last weekend I snuck upstairs of one house and shot this one kid 5 times at 5 feet away. 3 in the thigh and 2 and the ribs. I think he started crying but that besides the point because he is the one that never call his hits. It kinda makes me mad all you that are calling me stupid cuz I really am not. I make good grades and am in the top 5 % of my class. Cant yall jsut respect how I play and not say that crap?

ok, i was actually agreeing with you for a minute there and was wondering why all those people were attacking you and getting mad and stuff. Then I read this sadistic post right here. What's the fun in shooting someone five times from five feet away? that's overkill man and I hope I never play with someone like you. Then to dismiss the fact that you made the kid cry as "alright" just because he's known to cheat is horrible! Nobody deserves that kind of treatment just when they came out there to have fun. that's not funn at all man, it's just WRONG.

I am sorry Ded but I think i was justified in shooting the kid for a few reasons. 1. This kid shot me like 4 times in the hand in the game before at close range. 2. The kid is the one who started playing this way. 3. Plus I hate the little ****. 4. He turns his gun up all the way. isnt that kind of game called ironman? anyways, i would play like this possibly if #1. i didnt live close to any speedball fields, but i also might play like this because i really hate waiting after i get shot for a team that just never moves or peeks or anything. i play with different people every game and most of them play scared and dont move at all. i think it would be awsome to stay in huge gunfights and keep playing, but not in close quarters like in a house or something. i like saviors example of play where you get out and later rejoin the game better though.

It's not that we don't like you....it's just that your style of play seems a bit warped. I can see how there might be a need to play the way you do in order to conteract people who don't call them selves out. I empethize with you on that. But hiking up your velocity just to inflict pain on others, I think thats wrong. But more importantly, it can be dangerous. Even if the other guys do it, you can be just as competitive while NOT messing with your velocity. Also, you can be the bigger person and set some rules with these people you play with, but if they don't listen, then just don't play with them. Oh yeah, your total disreguard for shooting someone at near pointblank range and making them cry solely because they mess with their velocity...that is what bothers me.

I just wanted to say that I dont really hike up my velocity because it makes the balls curve so I DONT DO THAT. You say I can be the bigger person and set some rules, well to tell you the truth I cant because these kids like playing this way and they WONT change. Also I HAVE to play with them because they are the only people that play paintball in my small city eer town of 2000 people. It also seems to piss alot of you off that I shot this kid at near point blank range so Im going to try to defend myself once more and list the various reasons for my motive:
1. this kid started this way of play
2. this kid has shot me at point blank range several times
3. this kid used to pick on me at school
4. this kid is shooting way hot like 350 to 360
5. this kid is a total *** hole
6. his daddy buys him everything he wants and is spoiles rooten

i have to agree with dragonlord on some points. my friends and i play without ref's as well. to play on the honor system works and doesn't work. there have been many times when you see someone get hit and doesn't call himmself out, either because they didn't feel the hit or they just feel like cheating, whatever the reason. this happens both playing with your friends with no ref's or when you go to a field. people just cheat.
my friends and i came up with a solution...shoot until he screams in pain or calls himself out. to some this sounds stupid but to make the classic arguement,"i saw it hit you in the chest, i saw it hit you in the leg, i got you in the gun" etc....never works out. no one wins, since both people are so unwilling to say they are WRONG. if you shoot someone until they call themselves out its a sure thing, if you think you hit him once and he didn't call himself out...then shoot him again, shoot him until he screams so that he can't make any arguements. i personally shoot everyone three times. one, trace or aim, two, for the kill, and three, for good measure.
shooting a kid five times from close range can be consider harsh by many but then again you never played with this kid. for all you know he could be the biggest a-hole in the world.
i know for a fact that just about everyone on a paintball field cheats, i know for a fact everyone has felt the anger when you see someone doing it even if he is on your team. tell me you don't going gunning for someone when they piss you off in a game?

if people think paintball shouldn't hurt, then they should stay home with their mommies otherwise play with real men instead of the women you call your boys.

ok, i still don't agree with you shooting the kid 5 times at close range when you knew you hit him the first time, but i can sympathize with you. There used to be a fat kid that played with us and he met that description exactly but we solved it by not letting him play with us anymore. So now he sits at home on sunday afternoons with his 400 dollar gun that his parents bought for him at first request and his 70 dollar case of proball platinums that are just as good as my 45 dollar case of big balls for rec play in the woods and wishes he hadn't acted like such an *ss hole in the first place.

I think I have met a new friend, Yo, That is exactly how we play and that is exactly why we play that way. Ded you said we shouldnt let him play that is a kinda good idea but we really cant afford to lose him. The reason why: He has an extra gun that he lets some other kid use and so if we lose him we actually lose 2 people. That means we will be play 3 on 3 games at THAT ABSOLUTE MOST. Dawgs my gun stays at around 300 period anything else and the balls are inaccurate.

don't apologize for the way you play, if you want to crank your gun up, do so. i understand your problem of not having enough people to play. i live in NYC...you know how hard it is to get people to play? last summer we had a 7 on 7 every weekend, this summer that numbers going down to probably 4 on 4, 5 at most. none of us want to pay to play on a field, buy the fields pricey paint, and play with their rules.

and tell me this, this question refers to anybody,

when the last time you didn't shoot somebody when they were 5 feet away? its kind of hard since you don't know what the other persons reaction would be. you could be standing right behind them and say "surrender", they could turn around and light you without question.
now, is that person a A-hole because he shot you from 5 feet away? or is it something you would do as well?

That is another reason why I shot him before saying Surrender is because one of my best friends tried to get him to surender in a situation like this and the kid turned around and TRIED to shoot him. I saw it with my own eyes. Yo what kinda gun you got buddy?

i have a spyder tl plus(which sucks) and 2 pt xtremes(nice), pt enforcer(sucks), and a sidekick semi(questionable). i've been playing pistolero style as of late, it makes my game more action packed and in your face. i usually play with three handguns and a couple of extra tubes. i get killed alot but when i do get somebody the feel has no comparsion. and my friends and i went out this past weeekend to do the good, the bad, and the ugly showdown, the shoot outs are quick which is really fresh. 6 rounds and 15 paces seperate us but i got to bring a radio and soundtrack to get the real feel. caring all that paint and equipment has gotten really annoying.

1 Spyder Compacts and TL's
2 M98
3 Targetta's(Spyder clone)
4 Spyder Shutter
5 and 6 are 2 guns that I own and are a lil odd like no one has them
5 Avalon Diamond GT
6 Sheridan Equalizer
I just want to add that the Equalizer kicks major @SS it has a custom 16 in barrel on that bad boy. The major draw back tot his gun is that it uses lots of Co2. Does anyone own number 5 or 6 cuz if you do I want to talk to you lol.

EXACTLY!! if you want to shoot somebody from 5 feet by all means go ahead. I have done it and people have done it to me when I wasn't looking. But the most even shot in that case was one to two shots max! any more is over kill.

i guess it depends this style of play might not be the greatest idea if you are playing with a lot of people and they all have pimped angels or the like...on the other hand if u and a few friends are playing with pumps and wanna pull a rambo that might be cool!
