Hiya,

I have some newbie questions regarding feeders. First, what is the real performance difference between vertical and non-vertical feeders? It sounds like vertical feeders are much better but I'm not sure why and by how much. Second, as a newbie, should I not mess around and just go for a battery-operated feeder (agitator, right?)?

Thanks in advance.

If you have the money to invest, yes just get a 9v. It make playing much more convient. What a 9v prevents balls from bottlenecking in the loader. It will agitate the balls each time the sensor does not register a pb in the neck.

There is not much significant difference between a vertical and powerfeed(angled feed). What a powerfeed prevents is "blowback". Basically air from the gun blowing air up into the feed and pushing the pb back up the neck of the loader. The newer paintball markers have less chance of that happening, but hey, why take the chance.

A centerfeed, if there is no blowback, will actually feed faster. ususally they install these on closed bolt markers like bushy or angel. fast shooting markers.

You can get a Revy if you want. but I really don't recomend it unless you are shooting faster then your current hopper can keep up with. If you do a trigger job to your gun or, have a ELCD frame, then yes! get a revy. If you do decide to get one, go for the 12vt. the 9vt is crappy, and your going to wish you had a 12 volt.

Vertical Feed markers feed all balls to drop right in a tiny bit faster then power feed. and yes, most closed bolt markers benefit more with the vertical feed then open bolt

I think that you will want a 12v revvy for any hopper 9v will be ok for the price but 12v is the way to go i just bought one ill sell you my ol 9v revvy for 45$ usa

Thanks for the replies. Regarding the vertical feed, I was planning on getting the Spyder Xtra (which has it). Does anyone know if blowback is a problem with this marker? It also sounds like getting a 12v is the way to go if I want an agitator but is kinda overkill at this point. Thanks.
