Definitly the Palmer Stab on Co2 and the Max flow on HPA (air as you call it).

Either the Stabilizer or the Max-Flow will be fine for either CO2 (use an anti-siphon tube) or HPA. However, the Max-Flow costs more. I've got a Max-flow on my Impulse and my wife has a Stab on her Spyder.
She's using anti-siphoned CO2 and gets +-3fps over the chronograph.

for co2 the stabilizer and for air the max-flow
the impulses can run off of co2 so the max-flow must be pretty good with co2.

I don't know about the palmer or the max flow... but I have a stock WGP reg on my spyder and it works well for both...

He's asking the best performing reg for BOTH of them. He wants to run both through his gun. Co2 tanks are nice to have for woodsball in the backyard...get them filled and they last a while, unlike air, but air is better for tournies for reasons we all know, where you can get filled whenever you need it at the field.
IMO, I say max-Flo, though i have yet to see a Stab operate on the new LP spring kit made for it by Palmer.

I'd say hands down the stab. The max flow is a little better on nitro, but it's a little bulkier, and plus when you have either and a good nitro tank you shouldn't have any problems. The maxflow is pretty good on CO2 if it's anti-siphoned, but the stab is much better in my opinion and you don't need an anti-siphon tube, just a pair of gloves. (just in case... you're bound to need to use a rental CO2 tank at some time, right? No matter how well you plan, you missed at least one thing. Why make it 2?)
Anyway, I've had my stab for over a year, and love it. I've used a max-flow several times (only on nitro though) and loved it. I use a max flow tank and love it. Regardless of which you pick, I'm sure you'll be happy with it.
