I need HELP with my gun!!!

My gun is a Tippmann 98 Custom (just bought it, haven't shot it!). I took it apart to make sure I knew how to if I needed to field strip it (yeah, right) and to oil it. I've also checked to make sure everything is in right, but I'm not exactly sure of myself on this. My problem is:

a) When I cock the gun, the rear bolt comes out of the valve, but makes a noise as if it (the rear bolt) slides off to the side. But after that it cocks fine...

b) My safety seems to be stuck!!! Do I just need to apply more force (such as a hammer?) or is there a trick?

don't have answer for the first question except, you don't have any extra parts from when you put it back together do you:)

i wouldn't use a hammer, try and figure out the problem before you force it.
