I think the only choices you gave that we sniper tactics were playing conservativly and sniping from a distance. I would actually prefer a combination of a few options.
1. Move slow, but not pop out
2. snipe from a medium distance. <-good sniper can move in without being seen.
3. play somewhat conservativly.

Take out your apponent from where ever you are, with as few shots as possible. Then move out Before anyone can have time to react to the player down and reposition and shoot the rest to heck.

Go to paintballzone.com then go to sniper corner for some good tactics. The best way is to sneak around from behind and take medium distanced shots but very accuratly. Only shoot if you have a 90% chance of hitting them.

The game starts. And you, being the sniper, have to run yourself a ways into enemy territory. I mean a ways. Deep into the enemy's heart, deep into their own homeland. Once you've made it deep enough (about half way between their base and the front lines should do) you must find cover. Drop low, and stay that way so your profile is as little as possible. Find yourself a good amount of cover(below a bush, near a tree, in a ditch) on a preferably high piece of land. Now, once you've done that, it's time to survey. Survey the entire area that you are in range of, and look for avenues. Watch as the enemy wanders about the paths, or avenues, in the field. And just wait for a few moments until you know which ones you can hit effectively. Now, wait for a single guy to be waltzing down a path that you have in range, preferably a very close one. And wait until you can eye up the perfect shot. Take that shot, and take out that player. I can not emphasize the "One shot. One kill" concept enough here. One shot is extremely difficult to pinpoint, so don't go getting trigger happy or anything stupid like that. Another good idea, is to use this tactic when in support of an assault force as well. That's about it, good luck, and good shooting.

The best place you can go to is http://www.paintballzone.com the guy who made the site is a paintball sniper. anyway i like stalking people till they either get into an engagment with my team or stand behind a tree or bunker to look around. Then i just pop up from where i am take about 1-3 shots then crawl back and look for my next target.
