ok, I figured out where my gun is leaking and like I've said earlier there isn't a certified airsmith for 50 miles so I'm counting on you guys. It is leaking from then new PMI pure energy reg that I just purchased. It's like brand new and I'm already having problems with it. :( Any ideas why it was leaking? My freind said that it might have been set wrong but why would that make it leak down the barrel?!?! it's not leaking anywhere on the reg, it's leaking down the barrel. I know it's the reg's problem because when I hooked my tank up to the vertical feed without the reg on it worked perfectly! If somebody could help me out I'd much appreciate it.

Leaking down the barrel is not your reg, it's your cup seal. Try 2 things, increasing your reg pressure (sometimes a seal wont "seal" if pressure is too low) and take out your valve and inspect o-rings and seal for knicks or chips

Also, cock you gun first, so there is no pressure on the valve

ok, I'll try that but I don't see why it won't leak when the tank is hooked up vertically. How do I know when I've increased the pressure enough to make it stop leaking?

I think I need to talk to a person over the phone about this. Does anyone know where I can find the phone number to PMI's customer support? They must have one somewhere because they have a warranty and they would need a place to fix it if it's defective. I need to know how to call that place, I know it's not defective but I just don't know how to work the little deely

because with out the reg.about 800 psi is entering the marker and putiing pressure on the valve cup seal.forcing it against the valve body.so no leak.....

but with the reg....(set at say 450 psi) is not enough to seal the valve....so you need a new cup seal...

I say a lapco because they are alittle softer and seal better under lower pressure...also check your valve spring.

sorry didn't finish reading your question..you will only be able to tell what pressure it is set if you have a guage...or else you need to chrono to just get the fps you are looking for (adjusting your velocity with the reg)...

check out g3's site for reg trouble shooting.that might help you ..but I still say it is your cup seal.....but hey it's your 5 bucks..can either got the cup seal ..or send the reg back with it.your choice..but you will still need a new cup seal in my opinion
