HI Star,

as long the marker works don't take the solenoid apart.
If there is a leak from the solenoid area , tighten the two screws that attach it to the marker.
If you take the solenoid apart it has to be put together exactly like it was.

The solenoid is the only part of your imp that you should not clean on a regular basis, as a rule only clean it if there is something wrong with it.

Well it is a good rule to stay out of the solenoid compartment as often as possible,

I find it extremely benefical on my Shockers to grease the solenoids every month or so, regardless of problems or use. As long as you know how to work on a solenoid, there is no danger in greasing them on a regular basis.

All you need is a steady hand, a clean work surface and sometimes a magnet to find the solenoid spring in case it goes a flying.

Don't touch it.

If you start having a leak from it, grease the gasket. If you STILL have a leak from it, grease the piston.

If you do end up wanting to clean it, ONLY remove the piston. Go by the instructions in your manual, do not take it apart any further than that. I don't recomend servicing it but once a year, as long as it's still working fine.
