THAT SHOULD BE WORST IN THE FORUM HEADER AND NOT WORSE. I FAILED TO USE SPELL CHECK.
Besides Brass Eagle which it seems no one likes what is the crappiest paint you have ever used. I vote for AccuBall. My wife bought a case of it for me once and just about 1 out of 5 balls broke in my gun. It was bad stuff or at least for me. I was using a Tippmann Flatline and a Micromag. It worked bad in both guns.
07/07/02 I guess to be fair it wouldn't hurt to hear some Brass Eagle paint horror stories. I hope someone has one.
Thanks.

I hate Venom field paint......does NOT break PERIOD.
I've had good luck with Viewloader's Iballz though.
mainly BE i usually stick with my pmi premium though,so i don't know of any other bad paint

32* team colors, almost every other ball broke in my barrel
HAY i like brass eagle...... at least when the oposition uses it  i have used midnights and team colors for a while. i never found a bad paint (except BE)

I've had the worst luck with ZAP paints. Next would have to be any of the RP Advantage paints. That stuff is like shooting rubber balls.

Zap Pro Series and Performance Plus. The only Zap stuff I like is Chronic... which is good 'cause it's our field's paint.
Brass Eagle and VL are good if they're fresh, but get old and brittle very fast. They also smell quite foul.

Kick'n Rec grade- it shoots(and breaks) like gravel- poorly and not at all(respectively)

07-03-2002, 06:35 PM
lets see, I used some diablo blaze, I have heard so many good things about it, maybe it was old or something. anyways it shot straight but that stuff would not break! I shot this one newb like 4-5 times he kept calling himself out, then back in 'cuz it didn't break(i don't play at an organized field). I shot this one guy 3 times it never popped. I know I'm not supposed to say BE but I have to. Brass eagle is only super bad if you get it from wal-mart, they don't keep it in good conditions. me and my friends have a saying, "if it bounces off a tree, then breaks in your barrel you know you got Brass Eagle." I just tried out 200 pmi premium and I have never chopped a ball before but I chopped 4 with that stuff! so I would have to say that Brass Eagle, Blaze (sorry), and PMI premium are tied for the worst.

i bought two boxes of 32 degrees competition before and they were the most god awful things i have ever used. more broke in the barrle then came out. they must have been like ten years old or soemthing they were so brittle it was really bad if you dropped them on the dirt they would break it was so bad.

i like PMI premiums! they are one of the best paints i've used. the team colors arent bad if they are fresh and diablo blaze is good 2. what r guys talking about?! the worst would have to b the rps slam balls. they are queer the way they are decorated and they were brittle so broke in ur barrel.
POD_paintballa
07-07-2002, 01:39 PM
ok, pmi is the best! the only thing is they chop more than any other ball I've used! and blaze shot straight! the only thing is that they bounce more than any other ball I've used! and I don't think it really matters how paintballs are decorated, I just want paintballs that go straight, match my barrel perfect, pop when they hit somebody and not on bushes and load fast. did I forget anything? Oh, that they are CHEAP!! and I don't really care who they are made by, so far my favorite has been proball, or maybe inferno. I've never tried marballizers except once or twice, but it takes at least 500 rds. at one time to find out if they are good or not, and I didn't notice anything spectacular about them.
MyJTRox
07-07-2002, 02:05 PM
I've used Zap Performance Plus, and I didn't break one ball. It shot great. The only crap paint I've shot is this unlabled stuff that came w/ my gun that I got 1k for $17. I broke maybe 4 of those, so they weren't too bad anyways. I'm going to switch to Blaze and Premium, and maybe try the JT Maxim balls. All I have to say is that you must've gotten a bad batch of blaze, cuz it is a very good paint.
POD_paintballa
07-07-2002, 02:24 PM
I guess so! it was bouncing bad!!
reneirwolf878
07-07-2002, 02:55 PM
true it doesnt matter how they are decorated but they say things like "eat this!" and other crap. its pointless getting a ball that trash talks people when the shell is so thin that it breaks in ur barrel. marbs are a tourny quality ball. they 99% of the time break on the target and are VERY nice and round and consistant. Something that usually causes balls to curve and do odd things is age. if the fill gets 2 old the water and the oil kinda seperate so one side is heavier than the other. also the shell becomes softer and gets dimples.
Guillotine

viewloader is the worst paint I have ever shot(been shot with BE, but never actually shot BE).
but with viewloader paint, I would get 1 maybe 2 shots off, then I would break one in the breach.
WillyC2106
07-07-2002, 09:33 PM
Proball shoots straight and doesnt break in your gun or the person. I was bouncing balls off a hyperball tube with this **** and shooting at guys like 10 times and none of them break i saw them bouncing off the dudes head and what not. This stuff bounces worst then bigball.
reneirwolf878
07-07-2002, 09:48 PM
sometimes its luck of the draw. u may get an excellent batch or a very bad batch. this guy w/ a cocker hit me 5 times straight w/ his marbs but not 1 broke. he was in disbelief and so was i!

this isnt really a horror story but its a be thing
it was my first game ever and i was playin with 2 firends who have played for about month and a half or so one of em walks up and goes i got some good paint this time! he pulls out of him wal mart bag a jar of brass eagle new formula 1 ball broke in the bottom of it and that was the best jar there the rest had breaks all over

Everyone at my local field and my friends say that bigball sucks, but it works fine with me. It is one of the straightest shooting paints i have ever used. It works great in my shocker. The same i can not say about pmi premiums. I bought a case of it and it didn't shoot straight all day. :pissed:

BE can be useful!
Today i found out how to use BE paintballs and what they were truly designed to do, and all this time i thought they just sucked. You are suppose to Curve BE paintballs around the trees, so you shoot straight and hit someone to your left or right.
WGP Nemesis
07-14-2002, 01:24 PM
Why do you guys complain about BE? Well, if you buy it at walmart, you will have a problem. BE shot very well out of my Autococker and my brothers Tippmann 98. They've also become the top selling paintballs in my local shop, probably because they label them "2000 case of paintballs" in a plain white box.

For me its blaze. My barrels a large bore, and that stuff was curvin left and right.
BE story-
I was using BE paintballs in a pinch after my mom dropped my PMIs and broke every single one somehow. Anyway, I was shooting at a peson who had ducked bahind a rock. On the 3rd shot, it curved straight down and nailed him! We were both in shock.

I have used Brass eagles, viewloaders, ZAP and Diablo infernos. They all work great right out of the box, but the brass eagles start to get soft over night, the viewloaders next. I still have 8 balls of zap from 3 weeks ago, i used them to zero in my sight, worked great. Diablos are really good and can last long periods. Brass eagle was the worst tho. The first time i got my gun i got a case of 500 BE... shot 50 for fun and put the rest in the fridge... next day total breakage. If I KNEW not to put them in the fridge, they would have been fine. The only good thing about them as they break on contact, unlike diablos which can bounce off.

zap, brass eagle, and seconds
pmi and big ball are my favorite paint...resonable price and they work awesome for me...with big ball, i only break 1 or 2 out of 2000..but i guess you people got some bad batches:P
the weird thing about seconds, is a had a good batch once and they didnt curve or break in my barrel at all..but the next case i got, the fill was thicker than toothpaste and it broke a ton in my barrel..oh well

Worst was BE, of course.
Iv'e had some bad experiences w/big ball, alot of curves, egg-shaped, and break alot.
Super Swirls are WAY too bouncy.
Story time- I was shotting big ball out of my pro-lite, and I broke a string of 12 or so balls at the chrono, so I said "hey look, I'll make my foot green" and shot and my foot. Well, the ball was supposed to break, but no, just my luck...

I used to shoot brass eagles, and once we were at this abandoned buildingwith them. anyway there was a 2 mile per hour wind blowing against the one side of this building and if you shot your gun, from 30 feet away, at the center of this wall (low too!) it would stop like like a foot away, do a right angle fly to the roof, do another right angle, and go straight again, over the roof. on a 2 story wall. JESUS!

i think you shouldnt be able to say unless you have like freak ms or eight diff boresizes in like boomies or jts etc..
in which case i would have to say the acclaimed "worlds best paintballs"(top brass) sux my left nut and my right one for that matter the stuff(i dont even consider to be paintballs) breaks and wings soo much its the worst stuff i have ever had and goes bad if you have opened it after like one day. the shell is brittle as hell which means if it is like 65 degrees or lower you cant shoot the stuff and that can really put a cramp in your game.
Crazy Mills
08-24-2002, 10:02 AM
32 degrees and viewloader are the two worst paints i have ever shot..............i was using both of these for about a month......... every 5th or 6th ball broke in the barrel, they curved like crazy even in a spotlessly clean barrel......... i would walk away from a game with paint literally dripping from the end of my barrel, and dripping out of the ports...... those are the two worst i have ever used and i havent bought them since because i haven't felt the need to give myself a head ache........ seriously though, zap seconds worked better

I think a lot of people's opinions on paint are based on bad batches (accept Brass Eagle, cuz unless you like get it straight off the "assembly line" it sux) but I've used Zap from where I work (Shopko) and it's worked just fine. I've had maybe 2 out of 2500 break in the 2 guns I've used. They've never bounced off of someone I've hit... Even the fat kid I shot from about 20 yds. away and believe me he was fat. It was great to see the big pink splotch on him. I've had more problems w/ that Diablo Draxxus stuff than I have w/ Zap. Just to prove my point, paint works different in different guns, and sometimes you do get that dreaded sh**ty batch. That's just my 2 cents.
I remember viewloader to be slightly better than BE (mainly because of the tubes that they come in!). I had a bad experience with proballs, but I didn't shoot many and it was almost a year ago. I recently shot about 1000 diablo recsport. They are cheap and I haven't really seen any bounces with them, but they are the ugliest, most out-of-shape balls I have ever seen. I have mainly played speedball with them, so I don't know about the accuracy at range, but the shape didn't seem to make them TOO innacurrate. The biggest problem is that I have had 3 barrel breaks and 1 chop out of roughly 1000. I never had either under my new setup (12v revolution, old AA barrel) and fired at least 3000 shots (consisting of blaze, diablo dusk, PMIs and RPS super swirls) under that setup.

After using ProBall awhile back (field paint) I actually thought it was worse than Brass Eagle. ProBall seems to have went the way of the Democratic Party-downhill. Which is good for the Democratic Party but not ProBall.

OK...I know everyone hates Brass Eagle paint...but I think that it is ok for practice and I haven't had many balls break in my barrel.
I recently had a bad experience with a case of Diablo Midnight...I was really stoaked when I got these because everyone was saying that they were very high quality...I started shooting them and they were just all over the place. I took five balls out of my hopper and rolled them out on the kitchen table. To my surprise they all rolled horribly!! I closer examined the balls and found that the seams were worse than many Brass Eagle balls!!
I would rather pay less for some Brass Eagle Balls than try another case of Diablo Midnight!

Brass Eagle AfterBurners... THE WORST paintballs I have ever used. Seriously, I first thought it was my gun, I sold them to some kid for like 5 bucks for 500, even he said EVERYONE SHOT BROKE, then he gave them to some other kid, some problem, he threw the rest away. Afterburners the shell is so thick that they dont break, at least BE is so brittle that they break on target. i never had a problem with BE in my tippy stock barrel (big bore) while Afterburners have decent accuracy but they NEVER broke on person, in a game of 2v2 woods ball, i watched 5 shots hit a person solid in the back and none broke. that just pissed me off. i use bigball and marbs now so no worries

GAP. Plain and simple, i would constantly hit people and it wouldnt break. My friends and I dumped 10 on the ground at the end of the day and walked on them--WITH CLEETS--and they didn't break then! They just dented and got all deformed but they never broke. Wayyy too thick of a shell. Thats why I like Anarchy, nice thin shell. Just right so it wont break in the barrel but it will on target.

i love the little viewloader things that come in the little 100 round pod.......they break so easily....the secret is to break a couple at the top of the pod....let all the paint drip down and ooze all over the balls....let sit for about 5 minutes......then shake it around then a crapload of paint breaks inside of it....then during a game put it in ur harness.....take it out and chuck to the other side with the top about halfway on.....they make the best paint grenade out there...
the best paint i have used is severe cyclones and thats what i am sticking with...

From my experience the worst I used is the PMI Premiums. They were very inconsistant, one case would be very good the next would be bad. I've never had any problem with Big Ball, I could throw them at some one and it would break. I'm trying out some Evils tomarrow and see if I like them for tourney use (too expensive for rec and practice).

usually i thoot nothing but the best with the diablo imperials (store credit allows me nice practice and game paint) but one day i went out to play some woods ball. that stuff was breaking in my timmy, cocker, and phantom. tried it with my egg, tried it with my halo, tried it with my revy, ran low pressure, high pressure, set millions of different dwell settings in my timmy, tried my aka bolt and stock bolt in my cocker, the stuff made maybe 1 out of 3 out of the barrel. I finally broke down and bought some marbs, which is tourney grade paint and I swear by that stuff, but today i was finding balls glued together, dimples the size of rhode island, it was insane. same thing with half case of evil and half case of blaze, then finally as a last ditch effort i bought a bag of big ball or rec sport or something and the breaking stopped. it was the weirdest thing!
normally tho, I would never buy anything PMI 'cept for their prems, marbs, and evil stuff.

some of my friends once used 32* competition paint that our local shop was selling as its cheap practice paint. the first time they used it was in the woods and that stuff sucked. it wasn't exactly what i like to call round (more like lumpy) and it didn't seem to break very well, so needless to say we had a few welts that we shouldn't have had and games went longer than they should have. now, most people are using at least midnight paint but a few still don't think it's worth it to buy more expensive paint.

I use Zap Rec all the time now in my Spyder with a J&J Ceramic. The paint is indeed greasy but it shoots very well and is just brittle enough to break well on opponents but not break in the barrel too easily, could just be a lucky match to my J&J though. They are my favorite practice paint and they are so cheap that I don't feel bad about really going nuts on the trigger. At my Wal-Mart they are only $50 Canadian per case.

i tried this diablo heat stuff recently.. bleh, very very bad stuff
it sometimes stuck together in clumps so that i would have what looked like a rasberry of 5 balls clumped together that was blockin my hopper. The balls that weren't stuck together were mushy, dimpled and at least 5 of them bounced off my friend (never did get him out)..

heh, i would normally agree with you.. except that i didn't even store the stuff.. much less improperly.. it sat in my basement for about a week where i keep most of my paint since it's the perfect temp and dry, especially since the balls were still sealed in their bag. I haven't used too many bad types of paint but the two worst are RPS bigball and those zaps that come in a plastic holder thinggy.

The first time I played at my paint ball field I only had enough money for 500 balls. By the end of the day I was stranded there because I dont drive and nobody there to pick me up and I was out of paint so I decided to gather fresh paint ball off the ground. I found crapload chronic thats still good and stiff. However Brass Eage it was so soft and would break in my marker like a mofo. I did't bother to pick those up.
I havent had really bad experience with paint balls I bought.
Paint balls I bought and used
After Burnner -Decent but had bad barrel that time
Blue Swir - Decent but had bad barrel that timel
Primer - Broke like crazy because I out shoot my hopper :-\ Planning to get
Chronic FLAWLESS even with bad barrel but was with Eradicator so I could't out shoot my hopper and have it break like mofo.
RPS Preium Nice cheap balls but wish I got Draxxus blaze instend.

I don't know why other people have bad experiences with blaze. I took out a bag that was sitting in my closet for 4 months and it shot fine.

The worst paint I have used is a tie between nitroball and dusk. The nitroball shot straight just didn't break. I had the exact opposite with dusk. It would break but not shoot straight.

The worst paint ever is Brass Eagle Blue Streaks. I got hit with one in the back of the head, and it didn't break, in addition, it hurt so bad I thought I was going to be sick.

not necesarrilly, it could be his hopper isnt feeding fast enough or is feeding too slow.
so dont be insulting his gun, it could just be the fact that he doesnt know how to match ahopper with his gun.

My friend and i had bought three 500 boxes of blue streak form walmart and thought we should check the bags of paintball before we go and we found that 2 out of the 3 boxes had bust balls and all the paintball were ruined.
WORST PAINTBALLS AND I NEVER EVEN USED THEM
but i found my fav. paint and it would have to be scorch paintballs. i have used them for 1 year now and have only found 10 paintballs out of (i guess 4000) to break
i liked them better than dusk, zap, you name it.
and they are only 11 bucks for 500 and 20 for 1000
ILOVE EMMMMM
make sure they fit your barrel tho

I've never seen such irregular paint in my time playing. Every other ball was egg shaped. Accuracy was horrible and the fill is super thin. I will never buy it again.

big balls and premiums work best with my a-5.i really havent tryed many brass eagle paints and i hopefully wont have too. the only bad crap ive used is BE wild stripe which my cousins gave me and super swirl that i got from wal-mart..they both turned my a-5 into a blender.besides that i stick to premium and big ball.

I buy field-paint sometimes, since a few fields here actually have better prices than the proshops. Well, I bought a case of PMI premiums. No breaks, and it looked good. It ended up being 7 months old and broke every ball in the barrel/chop. It was so bad that I had to get a new freak back because I couldn't manage to get the insert out, even after leaving it under flowing water for 45 minutes.
Severe Hurricane is second place. It would be first, because PMI premiums are usually great. That was a one-time deal. My friend got 2 cases of it, because the local proshop had 20% off paint before Xmas. He was playing pumps, and realized he had no intentions to shoot 4,000 paintballs so he sold me a case. They shot well through his PGP, but they weren't great. Through his P68AT and autococker, around 3/4 of the balls chopped or barrel-broke. At one time, I had a hopper of Stinger (field paint, its cheap and great, actually. Bad with Timmy and Halo B eyes though) and 13 hurricane balls in the very back that I used to top the hopper off. I had no chops or breaks of stinger, but 10 out of 13 chopped. I threw the case away, but decided to buy another 1000 rounds to give it another chance. It was very new, yet I still broke almost every ball, making my impy less accurate than a stock spyder's barrel, and the rate of fire was slower than a mech due to the fact that only 2 or 3 paintballs wouldn't chop per second. It was aweful to clean. Weird too, the rest of severe paint is fine.
Bluestreak would come in third. I couldn't get a break off of an airball bunker from 10 feet. All bounces, and I shot 50-ish times at 280fps. It really hurts and never breaks. The fill is clear, so you can't tell a bounce from break anyways. The shells also seem to be plastic, because they didn't decompose after 2 weeks when I spilled a pod on the woodsball field. Bad for the enviroment.
