What's a Venturi bolt? Would it help my totally un-upgraded Tippmann 98 Custom? What good+cheap($20-30) upgrades should I get?

if you don't have a venturi bolt take a look at your bolt from the front. You will notice that there is a single hole where the gas comes out of the bolt to push the ball. No look at this pic of a venturi bolt...

this is a Boss Rear Cocking Venturi bolt
The venturi redirects gases such that it pushes on more surface area of the paintball, this distributes force more evenly, which lessens the chance of ball breakage, and creates greater accuracy for your paintballs

switching to venturi doesnt necessarily mean rear cocking, there is a automag venturi bolt that doesnt cock outside of the back of the gun
the venturi piece allows the air to spread more evenly around the ball, supposedly to give more accuracy and range
however, non-venturi bolts allow you to get lower operating pressure out of your gun
