What would be some good guns for about $500 dollars?

I have two types of playing styles: long shots, and going behind the other team and taking them out from behind.

This is what I was thinking of now:

Tippman 98 Custom - Black
Tippman Flatline
JT Spectra Thermal Black + Prescription Insert
16oz to 20oz CO2 (black)
ACI 6 stage or Tippman Expansion Chamber
Reactive Trigger
12 Volt Revolution Hopper - black

But I am open to other guns. I want them to be reliable, accurate, and have good range. The reactive trigger sounds nice when you have to deal with a wiper.

You could get a new cocker and nitro for 500 or even a bushmaster(I think) though theres no package with that. If this is your first gun spend a little less to make sure you wanna get into it. If you are sure you love it like the rest of us get a cocker they rock

all prices for paintballgear.net
An autococker 2001 $329
pure energy 68ci steel nitro tank $129
JT spectra thermal $38
And other stuff loader + elbow $15
And you got yourself a nice system

You don't need a revy right away unless your going to play in a tourney, otherwise get this stuff first and then if you have extra money get a revy.

please explain more what "cockers" are. Autococker? Advantages? I don't want an electric paint sprayer.

An autococker is a closed bolt pneumatic paintball marker. The air doesn't go through the bolt like on blow backs. It is extremely consistent and accurate and capable of reliable high rates of fire. Not 13bps or anything but still good. By the way electros only spray if you make them

cockers are a great gun because you can keep them as a 350 dollar gun or a turn them into a 1500 dollar gun

are autocockers full auto?
do they work like the RT tech from tippman?
what changed from 2000/2001?

Autocockers are not full auto. An autococker is a pump gun which cocks itself. It may sound confusing but a pump gun you use your hand to recock and the autococker uses the co2/nitro that goes to the front pneumatics to recock. This allows fast firing with good accuracy. So with this system the gun can fire as fast as your finger. Nothing really changed between the 2000/2001 cocker but its always good to get the newer version.

The elbow doesn't really matter, and I think the autococker is the gun you should get. It also fires plenty fast enough to deal with wipers.

a pull through squeegee with swab is the best and the paint is direct hit at http://www.paintballgeek.com for only 40. its awsome paint too.

The stock barrel on the autococker is fine, but louder compared to a boomstick. But hey its stock, and its one of the better stock barrel I have seen In my day. The short time of experience I have had with the stock barrel was fairly good. There were hardly any breaks, but you have to squeegee the barrel after a break otherwise it will curve alot. This barrel isn't really self cleaning. The only thing I don't like is how loud it is. My friend had porting drilled in it because he didn't want a new barrel, and he claims it muffled the noise alot. But I haven't heard it perform outside of the very noisy field. Some good paint for it is marballizers. Just stick with them, they are widely used on every field. You will also need to buy the bottom line kit so you can use the in-line reg. Right now I don't think you need the revolution hopper because you might find that you don't shoot that much paint that fast. But you can always get one down the road. Oh yeah, I have a 32* 7"/8" elbow.

It's kind of like a spyder. A cocker would be way better.

A damn fool

I want a glasses friendly mask and I want nitro

pr0kch0p
05-29-2001, 07:14 PM
pmi pirhana ext pro g3: $240
crossfire 68ci/3000psi fiber: $170
12v revvy: $50
jt proteus w/ fan: $100

over your price but it has everything you want except for a new barrel. i would get a cheaper gun and upgrade from there.

dawgs712
05-30-2001, 06:41 AM
the proteuys has been recalled so dont get that and the gun doesnt come with a reg so your nitro wouldnt work well

schuss
05-30-2001, 07:10 AM
that gun DOES come with a reg. It's the G3, not the G2. Go with a cocker though, as you will be able to use it for the rest of your paintball days if you want to.

just get a cocker, dont fu*k with it, let the guy at the shop do all the stuff for it.

get a 12v revvy, 20 oz anti-syphon tank, and spectra goggles

that will last you awhile until you have enough to get a new barrel because the cocker barrel is very accurate just loud (yes i have shot a stock cocker)

dawgs712

Or you can go with the most simple gun that always works and is better than my friends autocockers.... GET AN AUTOMAG!!! My gun never breaks down and it is more accurate and just as fast as my friends cockers. And they have a boomsticks and new regulators. You can get a very cheap package about any where any you will not regret it. Go automags!

where are they from? are they just for refference. . . dont wanna sound like an *** if they are hehe . . . i think paintballgear.com has 68ci fiber tanks (crossfire) for only like $150 and if tose are real prices i owuld like to know where they are from cuz a 12v revvy for $50 is good price (if they are colored ones)
