The way sniping works in scenario games is that the field is so big the other team probably will not have a clue where you are. Since there are different missions, the other team is heading to different places. Now the sniper is in one place waiting, the other team is on the look out but with the camo they have no clue where or when to expect a snipper. In little fields,10min games everyone knows the general area of everyone else. You may go by the same place 3 times and the forth your suddenly eliminated. Thats how sniping works, anywhere anytime. People like to recreate war so they have fun doing that but yor not a newb or an idiot for adding another demision to the game. I hopoe somewhere in this mumbo jumbo you got your answer:|

I know alot of seasoned players (some of who are/were well-to-do tourney players at one point or another to my understanding {I don't play tourneys or follow their progress}) who love sneaking behind an enemy's base and methodically causing havoc which in effect helps their side by delaying missions

well a sniper has to wait, and he cant do that in 10 minute games, however on my outlaw field where i go play the games often last over an hour. theres more ambushing than sniping because u have no idea where other people will go, but in ctf there are snipers. one guy had a great spot with his body half in the river and just his head and gun sticking out on the bank, and he got a few people out. that was sniping cause he was especially going for the guy with the flag. i really wanted to jump in the river and go get him, but o well.
