impulses regularly run aroun 150-190, yes the max flow is adjustable, it comes set around there, you can get a high pressure max flow from smart parts www.smartparts.com

Most max flow's that you buy online come with both a high pressure spring and a low pressure spring for the differnt kinds of guns... pbgear.com has em except I think you choose which one you like ..anyhow if you get a high pressure max flow and need a low pressure one you wont have to buy a whole new reg , but I would definatly stick w/a maxflow because there isn't a better reg out there!

i think we need a sticky with the really basic questions about the impulse....you'd be surprised how some people are confused about going to the FAQ to find stuff out....

OK- now to REALY confisue you. The Impulse COMES with a maxflo reg. this is a low pressure reg (output adjustable up to about 250 psi) If you get a VERTICAL REG impulse- no problem- very simple answer- buy the High pressure Max flo tank. THis can be used on both your Impulse (with vert reg) or a cocker or what ever other gun you may have.

Now if you get an impulse with a reg UNDER the grip, things get confusing. As the Maxflo is NOT a screw in tank, you have to come up with some way to mount the tank. Of course the easiest way is to remove the Low Pressue Max flo reg from the handle of the gun and mout the max flo tank there in its place. If you do this, you will have to have a LOW PRESSURE maxflo on the tank (as it will be the only reg)

THis also give you a couple of options- you can buy a high pressure max flo tank, and swap the bottom line reg from the Impulse for the reg on the maxflo (now you have a low pressure maxflo that can be converted back to high pressure to use on a different gun)

OR

You can buy a low pressure Maxflo and simple replace the bottom line reg with the tank including reg. Unfortunaly this leaves you with the lest versitality. (as far as using the maxflo anywhee else)

So I guess if you want the max in "interchangabilty" I would recomend getting a VERTICAL REG Impulse and a High pressure max flo.

If you want the best "value" get the Impulse with the maxflo already mounted on it. This is the so called "ultimate" package which also includes the AA barrel and Vision. (about $850 total package)

One other thing-- there is more difference in "high presure" max flos and "low pressure" then just a spring. They use a different bore size on the body and a different piston. You CAN NOT convert a HP maxy to LP by just swaping a spring.

I have assumed from your question that you are NOT buying an impulse, just a max-flo regulator to put onto another marker, if what i have said so far is true ignore what mipaint (aka FOM) said, (sorry FOM, this is not a flame, just trying to make it easy for the guy)

what pressure does you marker run at?
if it is 100psi-240psi then get a low pressure max-flo
if it is 300psi-1000psi then get a high pressure max-flo

to get a max-flo for any marker go to http://www.smartparts.com/spairsystems.htm and click on the max-flo 4500 or max-flo 3000 links to see prices, descriptions and to order one, both are available in high and low pressure versions
