hey,
as u can prolly tell, im lookin into a bushy bko to upgrade from my fishy. i just need a few questions answered
1.) will an 20 oz co2 Anti Syphon tank W on/off valve work?
2.) are there any immediate upgrades recomended 4 it
3.) are there any big problems that anyone's heard of yet?
4.) does anyone know why it's so cheap??? i mean, this thing is cheaper than a cocker.

o yea... what type of oiling/regular maintence is required (so i can buy everything at once online)

1. Yes, it was designed to be used with Co2, but an anti-siphon, or a remote, is a MUST.
2. A better barrel. Drop if you perfer. Future you may want to consider a better reg, a new board.
3. No big problems I've heard of, but some will always arise. Like all good markers, they have to have their flaws.
4. They have a 2 way valve....alot less complicated and less mantainance wise.
Buy grease, not oil. Like most electros oil will mess with the 'noid, adn cause the gun not to work.

hey xpaintball.com says you MUST have an on/off valve whats with that ?

i heard with impulses (i think they're slightly the same)... that if u don't there is a risk of "shocking" the selioniod (or whatever it is)... what an on/off tank lets u do is gas up the gun slowly so it doesn't get shocked.

Yep, a on/off valve on a tank PMI and Smart parts makes them and yes they are capable of having a antisiphon tube installed too..
Uhmm my recomendation, first upgrades, Barrel, and then nitro..
and the reason why the BK0 is cheaper. is......
Instead of using a FULL air solenoid controlled hammer assembly it is more like a Kingman EM1 spring returned. which is why they limited it to 10 balls per second. BUT.. great news for all you tinkering people out there....
You CAN install a BK2 or B2k2 board (in guns made in 2001 & up they're all the same now) and it will function decently up around 14 balls per second, but were also talking a few other mods and you DEFINATLY will require regulator work and nitro!!!
What kind of threads do the bkos have?
or are their actually bushmaster threads, sorry never heard of them if their are

I have a question. Does anyone no how you'll beable to adjust the FPS? may be stupid question but I guess I'm a electro nOOb.
Crisis

Main regulator pressure and low pressure reg fine tuning adjusts the fps.
Threads are Indian Creek threads, Cocker threads are available!!!

can anyone tell me what would happen if i used co2 without anti-siphon?
Crisis
07-10-2002, 04:17 PM
Solenoids don't like co2, it will cause damage to the oring and posibly the rest of the internals of the solenoid.. and you wouldn't want to be replacing it.. it's quite a bit of cash!

i have a pretty stupid question too. Does it come with everything out of the box (like hoses) and is it easy to hook up?

Is the BK0 Even out yet? I went to the ICD website and all they had were the BM2K and BM2K2 and no info on the BK0.
I am also looking to buy this.

www.paintballgear.com has them

I've heard some people say the board in the BK0 was not upgradeable, its only a semi auto board.
Is this not true? Can someone set the record straight?
brodude2002

the bk0 is factory made to only bust out 10 bps. getting a new board wouldnt do nething, because of the valve and soleniod. like chrisis said, it doesnt have a full air soleniod. also, the valve is only made to do 10bps. the board on a bk0 is only semi, yes, but there might be a board coming out specially made for the bk0. you just have to wait.

well the BOARD its self isn't upgradable YET. I'm sure knowing ICD that, that might change in the future. BUT if your crafty and have some time on your hands a b2k/b2k2 board will work in there.. the solenoid wil function up past 10bps..
brodude2002

i doubt the soleniod will, because its half of the b2k soleniod (i believe its a 2-way, compared to the b2k's 4-way) and the valve will not allow it. the valve was built specificly for 10 bps. there is a huge thread about the bk0 at www.pbnation.com
i would suggest reading all of it b4 getting the marker.

okay first off. if the solenoid was NOT purpose built, the gun would be 3 times the amount.. Gun companies DO NOT HAVE THEM SPECIAL BUILT.. I don't care what anyone says. I know 3 techs at ICD and all of them will back that up.
the Solenoid IS CAPABLE of 14 and up, BUT to limit cost, and keep the gun into a realm of overall effeciency it is limited to 10. Also helps keeping it from chopping like a food processor.
I would say before you go ranting and raving about something you only what has been written about, call the ICD techs and have a nice long discussion with them..
btw : The solenoid is mass produced, and is the SAME BRAND that kingman now uses in the EM1  :eyes:

if both the em1 and bk0 have the same soleniod, and if the em1 can go over 10bps, then i admit u r correct. i only posted wut i remember from doing research, becuz i was goin to get this gun, but i got a mag instead. 1 question tho, if they have the same soleniod, then y is the em1 so much more? (unless the em1 i better internally, or the wiring is better, and i highly doubt the regulation system in em1 is better than the bk0's).

Can the BK0 take Preset Nitro tanks? I currently have an Air America Me`lee 68/3000 Preset tank, which has an input pressure of about 750-800 PSI, which I currently use on my 98 Custom.
Would this pressure be too high for the BK0 Reg to handle? Would I have to buy an adjustable tank instead?
brodude2002

i dont see y u cant use preset nitro tanks.

A preset tank is not a problem, as the BKO's in-line regulator will take the pressure down to a usable PSI.
Crisis, you say Cocker threads are available? I will buy a BKO in a second if I can use my broad selection of Cocker barrels! Where can I get one with Cocker threads?

Don't plan on using co2 when it's cold out. nitro is more constant and better for the gun. If you can afford it go staright to nitro. If not keep that liquid out!

no company in their right mind would put a reg on that can't handle 800.

Actually, the older bushy regs couldn't handle preset tanks :P
As for the cocker threads, you would have to call ICD direct and they will thread your bk0 for cocker barrels for some extra cash.

That is the price for a BKO with A/C threads directly from ICD, got my e-mail back today. For the extra cash, I'd rather just get a Freak back and use my complete Freak kit from the Cocker! The choice is yours... $275 or $365???

Would dye stickies or sp grips work for a BKO, or do i have to buy grip panels? Also what kind of barrels do you guys have for you BKO's, i was thinking maybe to buy a ultralite?
Thanks in advance

Ya Stickies should work just fine. As far as barrels go, I have an Xcel, Ultralite and SP Freak, and I get much better performance from the Freak. I used to be die-hard DYE, but Smart Parts barrels are tough to beat!

ICD doesnt recommend using a 850 psi preset tank. IF you use a preset tank, they recommend a 450 psi preset. LIke the crossfire 68/4500 450 psi low pressure tank which is $169.99 at paintballgear and 888paintball

how does the tank preset make any difference in the gun
JTramoDude
07-24-2002, 07:15 AM
it doesn't very much, but it does put a big strain on the external regs from what i hear

hey hey hey
i heard that.....
the provider for the chips cudn't provide enough BKO chips so they put the B2k chips in them (full auto so i heard)
im prolly getttin a BKO tomorrow or a week from now

I got one, get a low pressure tank or adjustable. I went to play today and the o-ring in my reg swelled up, I was using co2. had to take the reg off and clean the reg and o-ring.
My setup:
stock black BK0
dye stickies
TKO cradle
damn 20oz ant-siphon tank (not using any more)
and ricochet ak
My setup in 4 days:
black BK0
dye stickies
TKO cradle
cp one piece
ricochet ak
and a crossfire low pressure 68/45 for only $170

Very important information about the BK0 right here.... apparently if you're running CO2 or a screw in you'll more than likely have problems soon if you haven't already...

It was just on the first batch that had a problem
