Most teams use Angels, second to that is tricked out cockers, and then a whole plethora of markers after that. I want to point out though, that just because they're the popular, doesnt make em the best. There's alot of great guns out there, but those are the most popular ones used by tourney players

i see alot of them with tricked out cockers and electric guns. but not that much of mags.

I think an angel is probably the best performing gun on the market. It has endless features, nice looks, quality feel... However, all these things aren't worth the $1000+ (emphasis on the +). Shoot a bushmaster or intimidator (at half the price) and you won't regret it... If a bushmaster and angel were the same price, I would definitely go for the angel, but they are not worth the additionsl $600+.

what do u mean teams dont use automags that much i see them all the time agd team uses some of the best automags at beat people with angels and autocockers

yeah i see alot of cockers and a whole crapload of electric guns out there. BUT there's the occasional spyder(myself included) and people underestimate tehm..but they better not :D

TL I can only agree, I was against hard core electro players. I was using my good ol spyder..

Electro's are what will be seen more and more, Angels especially. why i don't know.
I like Bushmasters, and Intimidators better.
I have seen quite a few mags though..

Most people use angels in tourneys, but I'd hardly call em better than a bushy or intimidator. between a bushmaster or an angel, in terms of just plain shooting paintballs at your target, the difference is negligible. Sure, the angel CAN shoot at something like 18 or 20 bps. But nobody uses an ROF that fast with an angel anyhow, because it would chop the paintballs to pieces. Most of the time it's turned down to about 12 or so, which a bushmaster can also do. The intimidator has the same performance, with an anti-chop eye that'll let you shoot 14 bps and never chop a paintball. The bushmaster can be upgraded to have an anti-chop eye as well. So what does the angel have that's so great? Vibrating grips, all sorts of fun features, but in terms of balls per second, and consistency, it's on about the same level. Why people buy angels so much then can pretty much be summed up by something defiance said in the PBC message boards. Pretty much he said that if Daewoo made a car, with all the speed of a jag, just as good handling, and then some other good features, would people who had the money for a jag choose the daewoo over the jag? no. Because the jag has been marketed as the best, and it has the jag name on it. People buy into the angel name, and the general concensus is that it's the best, just because that's a reputation it's had for a long time. If you take the gun down to it's most important aspects, balls per second, and consistency, an angel isnt any better than a bushy or an intimidator.

i guess no one here has ever actually played with an angel

they are the best elctro period. the only other electro i think that compares with an angel is a nice defy/bushy

shockers are just too damn big and heavy
intimmys are but ugly and i dont like the grips on em
stock bushies are ok but the quality isnt there like on an angel


as for my choice for a gun i would choose

ripper cocker body completely done by palmers or bullseye paintball

or

adrenalin angel in my custom anno
with
5 annoed to match 12 inch boomies
adrenalin lowrise
2 adrenalinzers
intellifeed
air assist
grey lcd grips
shocktech d/f annoed to match
conquest nitro system
(hey this happens to be the gun i am ordering i am soo lucky hehe)

Buck up and start pumping some Iron because the shocker is the best paintball gun and while it is not good for a front player it serves very well as a mid or back and can be addapted for the front. I would say a Shocker and a Cocker are the Two best guns in paintball and are the Two best for tournys.

Can you really say there is a best? Seriously! I think it was TL+ or someone who said something VERY true to the sport. "A talon is just as good as an Angel, It's the person behind the gun who makes the gun all the better". Thats true!

I saw some kids (rich b*sterds, may i add) playing paintball for their second time. Guess what guns they had. The one had a 2001 Angel, the other had a 2000 Dark Angel.
When we played they flat out SUCKED! so if the angel is so good, why weren't they? I was playing them with my spyder Shutter, and i wooped them. But i'm not gonna dis ya Angel lovers out there.

In my opinion, the Angel would suck if i owned one, and shot with it. It's not all that accurate. I've shot it before, and my spyder is as accurate as it! :eek: Hard to believe! But like Twichy said, you can have the fastest gun out, but if your playing in a tourny with it-the limits 13 ps and 250 fps(last time i checked). The UK has banned all modes of firing except Semi.

there is a preformace differance, bushys, and all other lower electros have 4 way valves, the angel has a 14, thats 10 more bolt thingies (can't remeber what)! angels i still beleive are very good, but yes overrated

well the way I see it is if you were ever taken out by one it did the job for that person and regardless of who has the more expensive or better performing gun their gun did the job there fore it competed with the best of the best and anytime you look down on someone with a lower end gun remember it when his talon pelts you with your cockers angels and bushys shocker and mags :)OK SO THATS NOT FRIKKEN LIKELY BUT YOU GET THE POINT :D

it is likely.. In a ALL OUT, Speed ball game, I got snaped by a pump gun, guy only had 15 rounds on him, and a 12 gram.

he was also the last one off the field.

man those guys are the scariest..if he brings in a pump, 40 rounds, and 5 co2 cartridges, you know this guy is good. AND~! if he tells you he's been around to play with oil based balls..pray he's on your team hehe:D

Hate to point it out, but the angel is not the best gun out there. The intimidator or matrix can fire at 14 bps and not chop, while the angel runs the risk of chopping at that speed. So realistically those guns can shoot faster. Bushy can be upgraded also not to chop. Turn the ROF of an angel down to a point where it will no longer chop and suddenly it's got the same ROF as a shocker, while the shocker is far quieter and dead on consistent. At the lower ROFs that it doesnt chop anymore, how is it any different from a Tribal other than the grips vibrate (wow that's useful, really it is). The impulse can shoot as fast yet it will run on CO2 marvelously. So true that the angel has features like super easy maintenance, and a whole load of useless crap that wont imporve your game at all, but that doesnt make it the best at all. If you want to get into pure Rate of Fire, an angel is the fastest, yet no feed system will feed your paintballs fast enough not to chop (unless you want to get into warpfeeds), so you have to turn your ROF down, and the angel is no longer so darn great, and some other guns actually have more features than it. Please, someone tell me why I'm wrong and give me an actual point that relates to ROF, chopping or consistency, because all that other crap about grips that vibrate is completely worthless. So go for it angel lovers, what makes it so good?

well i have both seen and shot angels at around 14 bps and they dont chop

just because it doesnt have an antichop eye doesnt mean that it will chop

anyway if you think bout it who can actually pull the trigger that fast to where you will outshoot your revy which causes the gun to missfeed and chop

and im not talking bout fanning the trigger or hammering away at it at the target range how often will you consistently hit 14 and 15 bps a game in a real game ?



and about consistency, i have used angels that get +/- 1 fps over the chrono, while it is true that bushys and intimmys can get similar consistency, often they have had enough money put into them to buy an angel


im not saying i dont like other guns besides angels i love cockers and i think that tricked bushys rock, but the first time i played with an angel i was completely wowed, moreso than anyother gun i have ever shot

Most people use angels but, some people do used a pumped up cocker witha elcd handle, there about the same but, I think angels are more reliable in tournies.

The elcd frame for the cocker has not even been realised yet. A angel is not more realiable than a cocker. There is just as much to go wrong on a angel as there is on a cocker.

I shot angel before making my purchase and I went with the intimidator. I've got a fast finger, and the guy had a mouseclick trigger and I chopped twice in the 2 bursts I took. Maybe his Revvy was screwed, but it goes to show that if everything isnt working "just so" and your balls dont feed fast enough, the angel will chop. I've played games with no batteries in my revvy and not chopped a paintball on my intimidator. For me it was either the intimidator or the matrix, because the most accurate gun with the best paint to barrel match becomes a Piece of shat with paint in the breech. Accuracy goes to hell, and so does velocities, and since a revvy feeds at about 10 balls per second (average) shooting at 11+ will give you breaks, unless your gun has a system in place that will prevent a chop other than hoping the bolt doesnt connect with a half loaded ball. The angel doesnt have that, and that's why i didnt buy one.
