Last night when I was playing I tagged this dude three games in a row with my stingray. He was using an m98 with flatline. It had a scop on it, but it couldn't save him from my big balls.

i was playing once and had my old spyder,, i got hit by this guy with RT automag supped up worth about 1200 bucks. He was all smart *** about it and yelled "get out of there" all loud like he was bad. Then my friend shot him out with a point zero. A 50 dollar gun. It was great..just shows its not the gun sometimes,,but the player.

one time my gun was broke so i had to borrow my buddys second gun a stock spyder compact..i ended up playing my best paintball that day i had 35+ kills that day and capped the flag 4 times one kill happened when I was behind a barracade i had 2 or 3 teammates to my right and there was only one visible opponnent behind a bunker ... well he was very pinned down so i said **** it and went to make his *** surrender well i got about 5 feet from him and he sees me creeping up... i continue to move forward and by the time i get am there he decides he's gonna decide to try to pop up and shoot me... so before i get a chance to say surrender my instincts already made me shoot him at 2-3 feet away...the guy *****es to the ref (because i'm sure i left him with 3 welts the size of texas)and me and my buddy get kicked off that team to go play with another.

the gun has one hell of alot to do with playing the game, without it u would be throwing the paint(good luck with that). Seriosly, the gun does have alot to do with playing the game, but its not as large of a effect as the player using it.
u always have to remember these factors
-consistancy
-willingness to break or chop paint
-ROF
and tings of dat sort.

you make a good point creek and most people are like that, I personally always tell the person nice shot. I guess I was just thinking that he would be mad that he had such a good gun and got shot by a low end blowback.

What difference would it make if he got shot by a m98 or an Angel. Either way he got outplayed. it has nothing to do with the gun!

i don't see why just because somebody spent 1.3k on a gun it means they are awsome at paintball. and so you should be just as proud if you take out an old fat guy with a piranha (not mentioning any names) as if you tag some guy with an intimidator, or angel in this case.

first, you gotta have the tiger shark, them is the best guns in the world, then you need to take the paint in your hand, sneek up behind some guy with an angel, and pop the ball on his neck because that damn tiger won't do a thing for you! now, don't use too much on one person, go around, and get em all!

See, now you know what p1sses me off, is this scenario
You show up at the field with your timmy, you're nice to everyone anyone asks about your gun, you tell them what they want to know. People ask to shoot your gun, why not? They try your gun, a good time is had by all. All except one or two. There's always gonna be a couple of guys, with M98s, Spyders or whatever, that hate you. Not because they're jealous, not because you're more popular, not because you're playing better, they hate you because they assume if you have a high end gun you're a cocky electro owner. If you eliminate them, it's just 'cause your gun is so good, forget the fact that you had to aim it and dodge their paint, it aint fair that you're using that gun against newbies either anyhow. After a bit, Smack, you take one right in the goggles. You walk off the field and in the staging area for next game, you overhear the player who dislikes you; "Yeah man, I nailed his 1300 dollar gun toting asz with my M98. It's such an amazing accomplishment that I nailed him, I'm so damn awesome and he sucks. Who cares that he got me a few times, when he got me it's all gun. When I got him I prove that 'it's not the gun it's the player'. Screw that guy, he thinks he's all that, he's just mad that he wasted his money" and it goes on.
I dunno, but I'm sure every high end gun owner has noticed this at least once in their paintball careers, people who hate you for no reason. Somedays it seems that if you've got a high end setup, every elimination you get is based on pure equipment, and if you get eliminated, you must suck. I'm personally kinda sick of not being allowed to lose to a lesser setup. This isnt really directed towards any of the guys in the post, the post just got me to thinking about this. I'm just hoping that some of you guys can take a second and look at it from the other side of the fence, us electro owners arent all bad guys, and if you get an elimination against us, it's no different than if we eliminate you.

AMEN.
However you said that 'its not because their jellous'
yeah it is. They were probably the big-guys on 'camp-us' before you came along, see, most newbies (very newbieish) think that anyone that owns their own gun must be a proffessionall, so if you even have a crappy lil-piranha (no offense towards piranhas) the newbies are gonna be like "blah blah blah" then when you come by and they see its electric and has nice colors, they flock to you and the piranha guys are left holding a colorless, non-electric, fish. It's jellousy
Savior
05-30-2001, 05:13 PM
Oh and the reason they blame their getting out on your gun, is because, before you (you being the electro owning person) came along, they were probably the best players, now someone with a higher skill level comes along... personally i just try to make good friends with the good people, cause then I earn his respect, and then he'll tell all his friends that 'he's cool' and then you get to be part of a group that will stand up for you at the field if something happens, and some friends with really nice guns :)

Well when I go too the field and using one of the best markers ther the other team comes right after my *** just too see if I know how to use it. 9 out of 10 I do. When they do get me they are happy and come up and say good things.
If I do take them out they'll say nice shot or something. One day I was coming up the tape line and was getting alot of paint laid out on my bunker. I couldn't move worth a dam pop shoot 2 or 3 balls. With this I got tired pop up and laid paint back. Matter of time me or him. I was him. After the game he came too me and said that was the best shoot out he ever had and thank me for giving him the chance to try and take me out.
I let him shoot my blazer and he couldn't really get the hang of it.

yeah i also agree but what it seems to me is its not the gun its the player and it dosent matter what gun they or you have you both have the same chance to get each other out its no big thing to get i guy with a timmy out its just another paint baller!
alot of people think and feel this way. since the end of last season and the beginning of this season, i've been playing with sidearms only. i don't think people suck because they have a better gun than me and i got them, but more of a satifisfaction that i gunned down someone who's packing 200 rounds in their hopper and another 400 on their back.
just a few weeks ago i got my two of my boys with a total of 6 shots(and it sounds like i'm bullsh*tting but it's not that hard to do when you play real sneaky). those were the only two kills i had all day, and the rest of the time i was getting lit up like a christmas tree. but at the end of the day my boys had nothing to say to me and i was sittin pretty.
i get shot all the time, because of reloading time and the fact that i can't shoot, just to shoot, i have to be more selective of when i can take a shot and it usually has to be in two round brusts. i've had guys sitting around telling me i suck and how they don't want me on their team because of the lack of fire power but it doesn't bother me...(too much).
people gotta know that using a sidearm is more difficult than shooting some auto anything using the famous spray and pray technique(not that everyone does it). "try going out there with a hand full of paintballs and talking that trash" is what i say, but most people refuse to play that "idiotic" way.

ok so the first time I ever play I see this woman with the gun from the gods... I don't know what it was but it was tricked out prolly around 1.3k put into the set up... and when she went into the games <with about 20 people on each side> she would get one or two people in the first minute or two and then she would get out.
I'm not sure if it was because people were gunning for her or if she was reling to much on the gun.
anyway my point is that it takes a good gun and good skill in order to be an effective PBer.
yes, it is the player and not the gun that will win the day. but if you don't have a gun that will shoot straight and steady then all your skill in the world won't give you that shot. I've been shooting handguns and rifles for many years and I've just started playing paintball. I would consider myself to be a good shot but when I was playing with the rental equipment I had several times that I was in the right place at the right time and I couldn't put the paint on the target because of the gun I had. so guns to matter...
however you must have skill in order to make your gun of any use...
one doesn't mean a thing with out the other....

I agree with what Eltwitcho ( the moderator) said about getting a guy out with a high end gun. I have either been to ignorant to even notice what most people shoot or could care less. I used rental guns for the first two years I played and never had a problem thinking that someone was better than me because of the gun they were using. Now I have my own custom 98 which some people refer to as a blow back gun. The thing I find most interesting about different types of guns is that if you meet some one you havent played against its a good conversation starter. " what kind of gun you shooting ?". It's just like some people like Fords and some Cheverolets, but if they both get you to where your going, at least you got there. One might use more gas than the other or have bigger wheels or nice chrome rims, but if the person behind the wheel cant drive the vehicle gets you no where. But in the end you pick up more chicks with the Porsche than a Yugo, and I think everone would rather have the Porsche.

I think the reason why people brag bout shooting people with an electro is because having an electro is associated with being experienced. I know I feel better when I bunker the 10 year player with the cocker than light up the poor newbies with rental M98's. I do not see a problem with being proud of taking out the guy with an Angel because you know you are fighting an uphill battle every 1 shot you take he takes 3. I think what twitch said is true also because the guy with the electro is classified immediately as the rich stuck up kid. haha ur fields are corrupted. jk. my field is kinda like dat, except everyone is really really nice. angels get into firefight with m98s, spyders, and other angels or electros too. after each game, u see the angels and the m98's laughin and talkin about it. the m98's at our field are really good. angels create a intimidation factor for da 10 year olds dat have rental prolites.....but even the angel owners let newbies shoot their guns. i remember one of my first times paintballin, i was like "hey wat kinda gun is that" hes like "an angel" and im like o yeaaa....and hes like "wanna check it out?" and im like "sure!" and he gave it to me and i shot it a couple times. they're real nice. i remember gettin in a firefight with a cocker....but it turned out he was a ref and he was yellin at me to stop shooting at him but i couldnt hear him cuz of my super loud m98 with stock barrel. he let me off cuz i was a newbie.

It's true. Just 2 days ago I had someone snapping at me for god knows what reason. Maybe he's mad because it was my doing that the past 2 games he "tasted the rainbow", but he'd say "What's that thing called"
"An intimidator"
"I'm not intimidated"
"It's just a name bro"
"Yeah well it's the gun not the player"
"I know"
"Good, I hope you do"
"So why are you shooting a cocker isntead of a Raptor?"
-Angry stare
So whatever, people will always be like that, and you just gotta deal with it. Sometimes you pay the price for having the most expensive gun with more than just money. Either way, I'm just more appreciative when people are nice to me, I'd prefer not to be friends with the type who would hate a person based on what they are shooting. This way I filter out the halfwits right off the bat :)

It seems to me that people with the more expensive guns are the most disliked on the field ....
This way I filter out the halfwits right off the bat :)
hahaha thats funny! good come back

same with me I went to this brave heart snare. and I new nobody there other than the tournament players because of there names on there back. So anyway nobody asked my name or what I shot and I didn't ask them out of 100+ people I thought it was amazing but it can be bad if you don't have friends and you want to make some and your shy like me:(
