I know it's really getting old getting these type of 'newbie' posts, BUT I had my mind set on getting the piranha g2 w\ bottom line, not the best but I'm new and lacking money, so I went to school, and I was talking w\ some kids who are really into paintball, and kinda got me interested, and one of them said that piranhas are crappy and I should get a M-98 custom, another said a spyder, and yet another said I should just stick w\ the piranha, I know this question has been asked hundreds of times, but I'm asking again,
Thanks for your help!

heres theal imho:
ttipman 98 is a biach to take apart. it litel splits down the middle. there are about 16 screws toake out when openin it up. it doesnhavea trigger frame tparts of the trigger come when you take apart the gun. it isnt accurate whne fire fast even with a good barrel. the grip is TINY.
2k is a piece of crap. you will prob replace the grip, get an x chamber, whichs another 100. that total ismorean a pirahna.
i would say get the spyder xtra b/c:
vertical feed
goo grip frame
good grip-rubber
great stock barrel
rer cocking
x chamber
drop foward

Get a spyder xtra or tl+. M98s are great and have some sweet upgrades, but you will hate taking them apart. They are also long. If you play speedball, you will probably like the design (shape) of a spyder better.

pirhana, made in US, not tiawan, backed by PMI, "good" stock barrel, great trigger, tough parts, good gun, trust me, i started on a spyder

Most people eventually switch to a more compact design anyways. I used to play with a prolite (which is great for scenario games) but it was WAY too long for close (and you'd be suprised what is considered clos) quarters. I now use a 12" boomstick '98 cocker with a MASSIVE d/f (alot more forward than drop as to shorten the gun). I love WGP, but the Spyder Xtra is a wonderful piece of machinery and it will get you used to the format of that style of gun so you will be accustomed when you move to something like a Timmy, Cocker, or any other high end gun.

Ok, heres my shpeil:
1) Tippmann 98 Custom: (I own one by the way so im maybe just a little biased) but- this thing is built like a tank. if you oil it properly it wont ever quit on you. Not accurate with its 8.5 inch barrel tho. I like the fore grip and it will never break a ball on ya. But it is a pain in the butt to take apart. I learned that the hard way and now i screwed it up but i got the parts put em in, oiled it and now its kickin some more cocker butt.
2) Spyder:
good- its a spyder, light, compact, easy to feild strip, good performance.
bad- not as durable as a Tankmann
3) Piranha:
good- like a Spyder, IMO better durabilty, a lot of the time has a better stock barrel but u dont care about that
bad- Spyder clone
Conclusion:
They all have bottomlines and have the same features but i think the Tippmann is the best buy. Durable, nice feel, and your gonna get a new barrel and it will shoot wonderfully (i tried my friends Boomstick and it shoots like a dream)

Well, how many times have you shot a dream?
*thinks*
That's a good name for a gun, "Dream". That way, when someone says "It shoots like a dream" you get free advertising.

the dream shocker
But spend less time on equipment and more on playing, so later you can be a good player. Heed my advice, later, you will regret not doing that, as i am

even though it says newbie for my name, i am not a newbie.
dont get a spyder too many people have them.
Tipmann M98 is ok but i wouldnt get it. this was my first gun and it wasnt too great. the only way i got it to be good was upgrading it. then i sold it
I have a piranha now and it is great. most definetly go with that.

Ok, if I get a Piranha G2 VTL (w\o BL of course).. would I be able to add an expansion chamber kit to it just like that, or would I need something else on it ?
