what is a drop forward? and is it really needed?

A drop foward is a part that you can add to your marker that makes it more compact. It "drops" your tank a bit down and foward. Thus drop foward. Instead of having a tank that is behind your marker it is underneath it.

A drop forward drops a tank and moves it forward alittle. Its really only needed with bigger tanks like nitro but its also good to have with co2.

If you want your gun shortened (as to even out the length for a long barrel) or to balance it out a bit, or just to look smooth, yeah, it's nice to have one. I have a Shocktech Apoc and I use it to balance my cocker out. I use Co2 on it.
