Go with the reg. You can get one (stock autococker) for as much as an x-chamber, and it'll provide better accuracy and range.

It won't give you better range, I don't know where you get that from.

It will give you better accuracy, because of velocity consistency. Save a bit and get a palmers stabilizer, they work very well with C02.

i would go with reg. you will gete more consitency out of your gun. and it shouldn't freeze if i doesn't already.

A reg will give you better range, indirectly. At my field, if your velocity is all over the place, they'll ask you to turn it down until they're sure you won't break the field limit. Now, if you've got a reg, you'll be able to shoot more consistently and you'll be able to crank up the velocity without having to worry about breaking the limit. More velocity = better range.

more range? sure you'll get more range if they let you shoot over the 300fps rule. you cannot compare two guns shooting at different velocities, then obviously yes, you'll get more range. your balls aren't shooting any farther then the next person who is also shooting at 300fps. crank up the velocity without breaking the limit? hmmmm. maybe if you turn down the reg, and add springs for a LP setup. but all your adjusting is the input pressure. as long as your velocity is the same as others, your not gaining any range

all the reg does is give you the a better shot to shot consistency. meaning... better accuracy.

Argh, let me give you an example. Before I got my reg, my velocity would be horribly inconsistent. The field limit was 289, and if I would take 3 shots, it'd be something like 260, 280, 270, or something like that. That means I'm averaging 270. Now, with a reg, I'd shoot 285, 280, 275, for example. This makes for an average of 280. Since some of the shots from both the regulated and unregulated gun are flirting with the field limit, they're not going to let me increase my speed at all. Thus, with a reg I shoot an average of 280, while without it I shoot an average of 270. The higher AVERAGE velocity allows for greater AVERAGE range. So, just as the consistency from the reg delivered better accuracy, it'd also deliver better range...

*note* These numbers, while relatively accurate, are still fictional. They're not perfect, but they're not exaggerated.
